(48) was born in 1813/14 in Grainger Co. TN.
(32) He died on Jan 12 1863. He was buried.

According to the1850 Hancock County census Alexander value was $3,500 and he
owned 600 acres of land. Alexander Montgomery was an officer in the militia
when the Civil War began. Because of the friction between Confederate and Union
sympathizers, Alexander and his son, William B. Montgomery, left eastern Tennessee
and went to Lexington, Ky. There Alexander served as wagonmaster for the Union
Army; being listed as a civilian employee. He died January 12, 1863 and was
buried in the military section of the Lexington Cemetery in grave number 211.
William B. Montgomery returned to eastern Tennessee where he married and
raise a family.

Cem in Tazewell TN. He was a lawyer in Tazewell TN. Their son
George a lawyer in Washington D.C.
