(32) was born in 1790 in North Carolina. He died on Oct 8 1859. William
was married to Mary MCDowell 1809 Wilsboro, NC by Jacob McGrady a Juctice of
the Peace. They moved to Hancock CO, TN about 1810.
During the War of 1812, William Herrell was a Private in Captain Dobbins' Company
of the East Tennessee Militia. This Company was a part o a regiment commanded
by Samuel Bunch. Their principle activity was an expedition against the Creek
Indians. William's unit helped build Furt William, He was discharged at Fort
Strother??. He recieved 80 acre bounty land warrant (#22194) in 1850m an another
(#7267) in 1855.
Mary applied for a widow's pension (Act of Feb. 14, 1871) in 1872. The Act went
into effect in 1874. He was married to Mary MCDOWELL in 1809 in Wilksboro, NC.

was born in 1787. She died in 1872/73. She and William were married
by Jacob McGrady a Justice of the Peace. Children were:
