Monterey Bay Aquarium

On Veteran's Day, Christina, Hannah, Jeff and I travelled 2 hours to go see the penguins.. i mean to do a biology enhancement project where we observe habitats of fish and other animals like PENGUINS!

The statement is so true. Some of these animals seriously look like aliens. But, it's amazing what diversity and actually how awesome these creatures are.

Here's the kelp forest as seen through a circular window. Look at how many colors there are. (Sorry about the blurriness)

This outer bay exhibit was amazing. It's basically this huge aquarium with a very very large window and you see sharks about the size of a person and huge tuna swimming endlessly. The room is dim and dark so it contrasts with their sleek streamlined silvery bodies. It sends a chill down your spine. But these calm, very slow, very peaceful turtles were in the same tank.

These little critters are my joy, besides having joy in the Lord, I get most excited staring at these very very social creatures. They're called blackfooted penguins. I'm very fond of penguins.

here's us trying to be those critters above.. even though we're a little on the big side. From left to right: Roz, Jeff, Hannah, Christina. Someone should have been in that egg in the front.

I wanted to save this one for last because I think this is the most beautiful. I got this on our way out of monterey from the car and the sky was just too beautiful.
I submitted a couple pictures for the SFC expressions newsletter. To see the color version, please check back after expressions has been released. Thanks! :)
