CRUDE OIL
Many years ago the organisms that didn't decompose, were buried with sediments. These micro-organisms were converted into crude oil.
Crude oil is formed by hydrocarbon molecules.Hydrocarbon molecules are chains formed by carbon atoms and hydrogen atoms.
Each chain has a different longitude and property. There are many types:
*GAS: H
- Methane:It contains one carbon atom and four hydrogen atoms. H-C-H
H
H-H
-Ethane:It contains two carbon atoms and six hydrogen atoms. H-C-C-H
H-H
-Propane:It contains three carbon atoms and eight hydrogen atoms. H-H-H
H-C-C-C-H
H-H-H
H-H-H-H
H-C-C-C-C-H
-Butane:It contains four carbon atoms and ten hydrogen atoms. H-H-H-H
*LIQUIDS:
Chains of between five and eighteen carbons are liquids (C5 H12 to C18 H32)
The rest is SOLIDS.
