Frodo Baggins

Frodo Baggins is a Hobbit who inherits the One Ring from his uncle Bilbo and is chosen to destroy it. In the book Elrond chose him to be the Ring-Bearer to destroy the Ring, in FOTR movie he volunteers.

In TTT Frodo and Sam meet Gollum, a creature who possesed the Ring before Bilbo. Gollum leads them through the Dead Marshes and into Shelob's lair. (In TTT movie, they do not actualy show Shelob's lair, only Gollum deciding to take them there). Frodo appears dead, so Sam makes the hard choice to leave his body, take the Ring, and continue Frodo's quest. But Sam finds that Frodo was not dead, and now in the hands of orcs.

In RK, Sam rescues Frodo from the orc tower, where nearly all of the orcs had killed each other off. They make it to Mount Doom, and when Frodo stood over the mountain, he decided to keep the Ring for himself. He put it on and disapeared. Gollum came up, bit his finger off, and fell into Mount Doom with the Ring, and a last scream of "Precioussssss..!"
