Went to Bilbo's birthday. Cool fireworks by Gandalf. Fell in cake and set off firework with Merry. V. fun except for dishwashing.
Day 2:
Can't remember.
Day 7:
Met Frodo and Sam while stealing vegetables from Farmer Maggot. Fell down hill. OUCH! Saw V. scary black-cloak guy. Arrived in Bree. Prancing Pony has good ale.
Day 8:
Left for Rivendell (not sure what that is) with a friend of Frodo's named Strider who Merry doesn't like. Hit by fruit. Ouch again.
Day 11:
Attacked! Frodo stabbed by scary guy in black robes.
Day 11 (later):
Pretty Elf lady (Strider's girlfriend, I think) came and took Frodo away on horse. Don't like horses, they're scary.
Day 14:
Arrived at Rivendell. Sam panicking because Frodo hasn't woken up. Have to share room with him and he's always getting up when Hobbits ought to be asleep to check on him.
Day 15:
Frodo better! Yay!
Day 16:
Snuck into council of Elrond with Merry. Was rather boring, fell asleep. Have agreed to go with Frodo, Sam, Merry, Strider, Gandalf, and some other people whose names I missed somewhere called Mordor. Sorry to leave Rivendell, there was such good food.
Day 21:
Know everyone's name now. Boromir is teaching Merry and me to swordfight. He must be nice because he didn't get mad when I kicked him. Feet V. tired!!
Day 23:
Up high on scary cold mountain today. Legolas can walk on snow but I have to be carried, which is very uncomfortable. Strider dropped me and I think it was on purpose.
Day 24:
Have given up on the mountain. Going underground to visit Gimli's family in Moria instead, sounds very nice.
Day 26:
Arrived at Moria gates. I'm sure Aragorn doesn't like me. Got in trouble from him for throwing stones in the water. Merry was doing it too!
Day 26 (later):
Ahh! Attacked by scary sea monster! It almost ate Frodo. Ran into Moria, where it is very dark. Merry keeps coming up behind me and going "Boo!" Mad at Merry. Apperently this isn't where Gimli's family lives anymore. Taken over by Goblins, or something. Am V. confused.
Day 29:
Found tomb of Gimli's cousin (poor Gimli) and a scary book. Accidentaly knocked some stuff into a well, and Orcs came. Gandalf was mad, but I think it was okay because nobody was hurt. Am dizzy from being spun around while on a cavetroll's head. Ran from fire demon, YIKES!! Gandalf fell off bridge fighting it. VERY SAD!! Told Merry Gandalf didn't die, but I don't really bevieve it.
Day 31:
Came last night to big forest with lots of Elves. Glad to be safe!
Day 32:
Left Elf place in boats (Yikes). Merry and I are running out of games to play. Asked Boromir for ideas but he is grumpy because he's the only one in our boat big enough to paddle.
Day 34:
Passed big statues today which Strider says he is related to. I do not understand how any one can be related to a statue. Sam says Strider is related to the people the statues are OF. Oh.
Day 35:
Attacked again! Merry and I tricked Orcs into chasing us so Frodo could escape, which doesn't seem like a very good idea when you think about it. We were about to be captured when Boromir saved us. He got (sob) four arrows in him and I'm worried he's going to die! Am crying very hard as on top of that the Orcs got us and are probably going to take us somewhere terrible that has no food at all!
