Spent a long time in my cart going to Bilbo's. Met Frodo on the way. Did not quite leak Bilbo's plan.
Day 1 (later):
Set off fireworks at Bilbo's birthday, went very well except for Merry and Pippin setting off my grande finale firework. I made them wash dishes. Later I fought with Bilbo about his ring. He has left for Rivendell without it. Gandalf: 1, Bilbo: 0.
Day 2:
Rode to Minas Tirith today. Read lots of old books, found out some stuff.
Day 3:
Back at Bag End. Told small inocent hobbit (Frodo) to set out on perilous journey while I ask Saruman things. Feel sort of guilty. Well, Sam will take care of him. Maybe.
Day 6:
Arived at Isengard. Saruman is a traitor, very dissapointing. After fighting with him he put me up on the top of Orthanc. Will have to wait for an oppertunity to do special wizard tricks to escape.
Day 8:
Talked to a moth thing today. Instructed it to give Gwahir (the big eagle guy) a message. I wonder how Frodo is doing. Still feel guilty.
Day 9:
Picked up by Gwahir today. Very convenient, as I just had time to get the last word with Saruman before jumping off Orthanc. Pretty impressive, if I do say so myself.
Day 10:
Arived in Rivendell. Used happy wizard powers to get my staff back. Am V. worried because Elrond just sent out his daughter, Arwen, or something like that (never can remember her name), because he thinks Frodo and Co. are in trouble. I had told Aragorn to meet them at Bree. I hope he did.
Day 13:
Frodo and whats-her-face have arrived. Am very relieved. Frodo on brink of death but Elrond will heal him.
Day 14:
Sam, Aragorn, and Pippin and Merry have arrived. Do not quite understand what Merry and Pippin are doing here, but I suppose Frodo would have needed all the help he can get (which he's likely to get from Merry, but not Pippin). Elrond also wants me to let Frodo take the ring all the way to Mordor. Don't want him to, as I sort of like Frodo, but Elrond will probably have his way as usual.
Day 15:
Frodo better. Excelent.
Day 16:
Council of Elrond. Frodo agreed to take the ring to Mordor. Shoot! Me, Sam, Pippin, Merry, Aragorn, vain Elf guy (Legolas), scary corrupt man (Boromir) and short useless fellow (Gimli) coming with.
Day 23:
Saruman's crows found us today. Stupid wizard! Now we have to go over big cold mountains instead of having nice cushy trip through Rohan. Stupid Elf can walk on snow, saw him laughing at me behind my back. Had to go back down the mountain, as I foolishly let Frodo choose what to do. Heading to Moria. Uh oh.
Day 26:
Arrived at Moria gate. Spent lots of time trying to think of password. Maybe I should have asked Gimli. Well, the door got open eventually, but we left almost as quickly, because apparently all the Dwarves have been mysteriously killed. Then, had to go back in again, because the Watcher in the Water grabed Frodo. Well, at least we got him back.
Day 29:
Found the tomb of Balin today as result of me laeding us down the wrong passage. Luckily no one has realized it is my fault. Attacked by Orcs, no big deal, no one was hurt. Frodo was stabbed but has cool valuable Dwarf-Metal coat to protect him.
Day 30:
Did not have time to write about this yesterday, but Company fled from Balrog which I then fought. Used special Elf ring Flame of Anor thing, got rid of Balrog, but fell into shadow, v. dissapointing. Oh well, plan to return later as all powerfull Gandalf the White.
