SEPTEMBER 11,2001
The Eagle Weeps
but is not defeated
Nothing could possibly prepare us for the horror and unbelievable events of Sept 11, 2001. Ron and I watched television all that day and witnessed all the events as they happened. We just couldn't stop the tears from flowing.
HOME
Having clear memories of World War II, the Korean War, the horrors of Vietnam, and Iraq, the idea of having to live through another conflict  was almost more than we could bear. The fact that we must also live in constant worry and fear here at home and specially in the States, did little to lessen our dismay. However life goes on, and all we can really do is try and live the rest of our life as we had planned. Therefore, we have booked 4 weeks in Florida starting Feb 9th 2002.  We will drive down as usual, so we hope the border has quitened down by then.
WITH LOVING MEMORIES
John Purdy
(with Winston)
John was our dear friend from Ottawa Ontario, whom we had orginally met at Liberty Apartments in Florida. We heard of his passing late in Sept 2001. He had finally succombed to AIDS after a long battle to survive.

DAMN IT! WHEN IS IT GOING TO STOP?
