Broad-Winged Hawk � Buteo platypterus

This is the smallest buteo in the midwest. They are mostly found in the east and do not extend west past the rocky mountains. Broad wings like dense deciduous or coniferous woodlands. They will eat a wide variety of things including small mammals, reptiles and small birds. Click to hear them.
