West Coker Fun Day April 18th 2001

The purpose of the day is to provide a taster playscheme where children can partake in creative, fun activities in a safe environment within their own community during the school holidays.
Playworkers will lead Arts & Crafts sessions, a Circus Skills workshop and Sports activities during the day plus
a qualified hairdresser will be leading a workshop where youngsters will have the chance to practice styles, temporary hair colour, wraps and braids.
Children of all ages are welcome but under 8s will need to be accompanied by an adult. There are two sessions planned: 10-12 noon and 1-3pm.
Entrance at the door will be £2 per session and £1 only for further children of the same family.
SSDC Community Leisure Officer Hannah Aitken who is organising the day is hoping that local people will get involved by volunteering to help out on the day and free places are available for their children in return.
Areas where help is needed include registering children on the door, making refreshments, getting involved in activities, supervising the lunch hour break, coming up with ideas and even leading sessions themselves.
It is hoped that the day will be the start of further Holiday Activities in West Coker, so local input is essential and Hannah is keen to hear from anyone who would like to be involved.  You can contact her on 01935 444554.
