Evangeline/ "Big Choice"/ Squatch On The Rocks Rec./

If there's one band who deserve and demand attention it's "Evangeline". They released already a great album "Felt Like Home" in 2001.
Jennifer Potter, Chris Cline, Kevin Suggs, Scott Summers and new drummer Terri Moeller brings us beautiful country-rock music with influences of Dylan, Byrds, Rolling Stones and Flying Burritto Brothers.
"Big Choice" is a wonderful collection, new batch of original songs. The combination of Chris Cline with vocalist Jennifer Potter and her clear, smooth voice is a perfect musical combination.
Evangeline is a five piece band with heart, soul, great songs, superb vocals and strong, confident musicianship.

Anne McCue /"Roll" /Messanger Records

Anne McCue is for me a brand new artist, born in Australia, who released one of my favorite albums yet
"Roll". She has played with different power-pop bands in Australia before making her own music and songs and learned much about power-rock, jazz, blues and alt-country. Staying in Los Angeles, McCue completed her album "Amazing Ordinary Things" wich eventually was released in Canada and most recently in Japan. She played shows with Dave Alvin, Richard Thompson and Lucinda Williams, who became her biggest champion. "Anne is my new favorite artist and an amazing guitarist" (Lucinda Williams). She was selling out her own shows and released Anne McCue Live "Ballad of another Woman".
She knows how to write a good song and she plays the guitar like no one else. " If you're gonna write a song" she says, "you should try to tell the truth.
"Rol" is a great countr-rock, alt-country album wich explosed with the last bonus track, a hellacious one-take over of Jimmy Hendrix "Machine Gun" a 9 minute track.

Blue Ridge Side By Side (Sugar Hill)

Blue Ridges Side by Side will not only attrack the fans of traditional bluegrass, but also those who like the more modern bluegrass approach.  References to the legendary Stanley Brothers but also to J.D. Crowe, Doyle Lawson or Ricky Skaggs. Outstanding are the wonderful harmony singing combined with the breath-taking instrumentation. Highlights are the bluegrass version of Jesse Winchesters Brand New Tennessee Waltz, the hymn to the eternal love in the titletrack and the soulful a capella bluegrass gospel Land of light. The band consists of Alan Bibey on madolin, Joey Cox on banjo, Junior Sisk on guitar, Alan Johnson on fiddle and Ed Biggerstaff on bass.

Luba Dvorak/ "Parts For Sale"/ Outlaw Entertainment/

Luba Dvorak is a well known singer/songwriter from Vancouver Canada who released a few albums with loud rock, roots-rock and outlaw country influences. He was born in Brno, Cezch Republic and immigrated with his parents and brother to Canada.
After his solo acoustic tour of Europe in the winter of 2001 he recorded a fine rootsy-Americana country-rock album "Parts For Sale".
This guy writes his songs on the road. The recording, it's all live off the flor with pedal steel, banjo, dobro and mandolin.
There are influences from Wilco, The Supersuckers, Jayhawks and Steve Earl.
Hopefully we can see this guy with band soon on one of The Netherlands great Roots Fesdtivals as there are "Blue Highways" and " Take Roots".
Luba gets five stars for this great new release.
