| Greg Trooper; "Foating"; Sugar Hill Records, For the first time on a very respected great Americana-bluegrass label, Sugar Hill Records, a great guy named Greg Trooper. A small man with a great voice and always a big smile and very friendly. I've meth this guy several times on a concert in The Netherlands. Gregg has a bunch of good albums wich you need to have otherwise it's a big black hole in your music culture. Greg Trooper is a well known singer/songwriter by artists as Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Emmylou Harris, Vince Gill and other artists, who knows his quality when they heard him and some of them cut his songs. "Floating" view's songs about love, about loss, about right and wrong, about dead and drift in the stream of life, all drawn from years of experiences, musical and otherwise, and distelled to akind of purity that has nothing to do with glitz. Gregg plays also this time with one of my favorite guitar players, Phil Madeira. Great album with beautiful songs and great music. www.gregtrooper.com |

| Ronny Elliott, "Hep"; Blue Heart Records Ronny Elliott is a real story teller. "Hep" is his sixed album on Blue Heart Records. They call him The Hillbilly soulsinger from Tampa for nearly fourthy years. "Hep" continues with the story of heroes and losers from the dark to the irrevent and giddy. Ronny Elliott brings us real Americana music on his best with the second voice of "The Nationals" Natty Moss-Bond. Ronny is an amazingly inventive, talented songwriter, without forsaking thoughtful lyrical content. It's always a big surprice to hear new songs from this legend. Ronny has made another wonderful masterpiece. www.ronnyelliott.com |
