| Bob Egan- "The Promise" Bob Egan is a very bussy musician and songwriter from Canada who playes with Wilco, Billy Bragg, Tragically Hip, Blue Rodeo, Freakwater, Neco Case, Oh Susanna. He just released his second solo album "The Promise" wich he's currently touring in support of along with fellow Rodeo member Glen Milchem, who also recently released his own record. And, oh yeah, he's now a full-time member of Blue Rodeo. The songs come from three places. Some reflect his years in Mississippi. Other were written while on the road with Blue Rodeo and some come from a couple of weeks spent "tropical camping" in an oceanside national forest in Australia with his Australian girlfriend, he says. "The Promise" is a wonderfully collection of songs that sonically reflect the surroundings they were recorded in. That place happened to Greg Keelor's inviting farmhouse, complete with lots of close musical friends. Canadian roots on his best. www.bobegan.com |
