| The night was pushing on by now, so it was time for the club. And since I had a ticket already I just strolled up passed the queue and went straight in. I felt so important. Once inside, the craving of alcohol kicked in again. I wonder am I turning into an alcoholic. So more booze was bought. I spent most of the night talking to a few people. Mainly CP4. I did however get out on the floor for a while. Simply because they played 3 savage songs in a row. First p was Queen & David Bowie with Under Pressure. Billie Jean was next and Teenage Dirtbag finished up. It was savage. I was sweating after that so I needed more drink. It was soon after this that Bird appeared again, this time with a new pal, Marie I think her name was. A good 7/10 she is. Fair nice. And dead sound too. From Cashel she is. Ill be there soon collecting a stone. She was helping Bird around at this stage because Carmel had gone awol. By now I was tired and my bed beckoned so it was time to head home. After gathering up the troops, I headed outside. Met Anto out there with Crean. Anto was raging because some prick had robbed his jacket. He was like bull. God help anyone that walked out wearing it. I dont think anyone did. It was pissing rain too. Typical Limerick. So why not walk home in the rain? Why not indeed. Thats what I did. Started walking anyway with Joe, Bird and Marie. Pecker had pissed off with his flower, which he bought for Edel, JP and Dave. I headed for the Lobster Pot for grub. I got chips. They were lovely even thought they were plastered in salt. At this stage, Bird was getting worse by the minute. She wanted to find Carmel so Marie and myself headed towards Arthurs Quay to find her. No sign of her there so we headed back to the Lobster Pot. And guess who we found there? Thats right, Carmel. I wasnt happy. By now it was time to head away home. Joe was helping Bird, Marie went with Carmel, and I strolled along contemplating the night. As I said, Bird was wasted, and she was hardly able to stand, let alone walk. So Joe being the little hero he is, picked her up and started to carry her home. Isnt he a hero. So Joe was carrying Bird. She wasnt happy, and yet she was. It was Joe was carrying her after all. Shes not over him by a long shot. And she was getting nasty now too. She was convinced she could walk. Yeah sure. Walk about 10 yards and then fall over in a heap. Joe carried her most of the way home and the closer she got, the nastier she got. Thats beer and drunkenness for ya. Myself, Marie and Carmel were in the house by now and we could hear Bird abusing poor Joe like there was no tomorrow. The poor bastard. If thats the thanks you get for bringing her home, I guarantee that he wont do it again. Bird was raging, and I was getting pissed off because I was soaked and she wouldnt go to her house. A slap in the head would have cured her but I wouldnt do that. I got close to it though! |
