Pre-Christmas Ramble

Christmas is on the way and my loyal fans are bullin' cos I've not put new stuff on my site for 6 months now. Luckily, the wait is over, and only a few minutes ago I put up a story I wrote after the summer this year. The lack of not being able to update my site in college is the reason for the long wait, but luckily that's a problem I've been able to get around.

So how is everyone? Any news or scandal? Not up to much myself. I handed up my last part of the dissertation for the year last week. I've decided to do it on Biometrics, and it's interesting enough. There is loads of information available, but finding relevant stuff is the tricky bit. I still don't know what a dissertation has to do with the whole scheme of things. Maybe it's another example of the stupidness of the Irish educational system, especially the LIT branch.

Since I last wrote, the financial situation has improved with the grant being paid out, and a few music gigs. Nice one that. But I've already started to spend it so it doesn't look like it'll last long. I bought PES 3 for the PlayStation, as well as a few DVD's to add to the ever-growing collection. I got a couple of things for my computer as well. One being a zip drive, which I believe is something I need. Hopefully that will be proved right in the long run. I'm also going to get the new Championship Manager game, as well as a couple of new ones for the PlayStation. I'm also toying with the idea of buying a laptop. I was looking on the Dell site and the machine I made was going to cost nearly €2500!! That's a bit much for me. I looked through the magazine that Dell send me every month, and I seen one that's much cheaper. Still around €1900 though so I'll have to think long and hard about the pros and con's of having one.

The exams are starting in the next week or so and I've to put in some quality study time over the next week. I haven't done any so far, but that's been the usual case for the last few years and I haven't been as fucked as would be expected. The week before the exams should get me enough info for to pass. I'm not looking forward to them because I'm not that keen on any of the subjects.

I had my graduation a few weeks ago aswell. More or less the same shit as last year, except that it was over much quicker. My tip for top student in the class was proved right also. Fair play to Keith must be said. After the grad, the parents, Colm and his parents, and myself plus JP headed for the Two Mile Inn for grub. That was grand, except the peas were putrid. Once the parents were sent home, we headed to the Davin to start the celebrations. That was a good laugh there. We headed to Clohessy's in town around 5 o'clock. That's a grand pub but I suspect I'd have trouble getting in on normal days. I was getting peckish again around 6, so myself, Colm and Paul ordered grub. I had steak. Nice, but there wasn't much on it. The rest of the lads in the class had sandwiches and stuff like that. We all headed for Riddler's around half 7. Most of the class were there and the girls joined us. That was brilliant in there. Unlike usual class nights out, everybody stayed together and didn't split into groups. It was probably the best night out I had this year. Obviously, we didn't stay in Riddler's all night. Most of the class headed to the Trinity Rooms. Once there, the night went drastically down hill. Everyone split up, and the time just passed away without anything interesting happening. I don't know what time I got home, but I do know I was wrecked. This was bad because I'd agreed to go up to JP's grad the next day. I did go, and it was the exact same as the day before. Paul and myself were both shattered, but we survived. Poor Paul still had to go to Edel's. I don't know how he managed that. I got a bus home to Borris, and slept most of the way. No doubt I kept people awake with my snoring. That's about all I can say bout the grad, but hopefully I'll put a few pictures up of the day, and night.

Some of the most observant viewers to the site will probably notice a new look to the rambles. Well your right. One of the subjects this year is Multimedia (cool enough subject though). Our labs are done using Dreamweaver and other tools for web design. Thanks to Mr. Butler, I've now got Dreamweaver on my computer at home. It's not the shoddy version in the college; it's Dreamweaver MX. Savage piece of software so it is. My plan is to totally re-design the site, mainly the most viewed parts of it, and the rest can stay as it is. That will take time; so don't expect any big changes in a hurry.

I've not got too much more to say on anything at the moment so I'll stall writing. I'm not in the mood for writing stuff any more, and I've not a lot to give out about (well I do but there would be some implications if I started complaining). That's about it so night night.
