| Maria sets a personal best time in the 1600m this Saturday (April 14, 2001) at the Arcadia Invitational with a time of 5:16.27. Her time can be seen in the "Girls Best Performers" section of the website. All other results can be located at www.caltrack.com. |

| First track meet of the season gets underway on March 16, 2001 against Lincoln High School at Roosevelt. The meet will begin at 2:30pm. Make sure to take a look at this years track team. |

| The Track seaon finished quite a while ago and now and the Cross Country seeason is just around the corner. If you liked what you saw in this Track and Field web site I hope that you will also visit the new Roosevelt Cross Country Web Site which is still under construction. |

| Throughout the summer the remaining sections will be completed and others will be added. I hope that all who have visited will visit in the future to see the new additions. | Congratulations to Maria Blazaquez for qualifying to State Prelims which will be held this Friday at Cerritos College. She will be running at about 5:20pm for any who would like to go see her run. Good luck Maria from the coaches and the team! |

| Pictures for the South Gate meet, League Prelims and League Finals will be posted in the middle of this week. The MVR section for the boys and girls will be updated today as far as the South Gate meet. No more MVRs will be posted after that. The results for League Prelims and League Finals will be posted as they become available. Pictures that have been taken by me will be passed out while I am on campus and I can also be found on the track field on Wednesday and Friday after school. | The last meet of the regular season is going to be this Friday against South Gate at our home track. Let's show the South Gate Rams that we have a lot of pride and spirit for out track team. If any of you missed any of the last couple of meets that were held at Roosevelt, this is your last chance to view the track team in action before League Prelims. |

| It is very unfortunate that the Varsity Boys and Girls and Fro-Soph Boys lost this past Friday against Garfield. Despite the loss there were some individuals that proved themselves against the Bulldogs. Manny Ruiz did an outstanding job in the 110 high hurdles and 330 intermediate hurdles. Sagrario Hernandez threw for a personal best of 29' 9" in the shot put which was good enough for the win. Juan Gonzalez was also a winner in the pole vault with a vault of 9' 6" which equals his best vault. Cruz Rubio manages to mirror the wins that Manny Ruiz had in the 110 and 330 hurdles. Cynthia Medina wins the pole vault with a vault of 7' 0". Last but not least, Maria Blazquez had triple wins in the one mile, 880 yard dash and two mile runs. She had personal bests in all of her runs and had a fast enough time in the mile to place her ninth overall in the Best Permormers at Roosevelt. Congratulations to all. Pictures for the Pep Rally and the Garfiled meet will be posted later in the week The same goes for the MVP's. I do oplogize for the delays, but I hope that all of you can bare with me. | The remaining schedule has been posted as far as City Finals. Driving directions are also accessible for the remaining away meets. All the other sections will be updated throughout the day, so make sure to check back soon. |

| There was a error in last week's track meet results for the Fro-Soph. The actual score is Roosevelt 44 and San Fernando 49. This overturns the close win by the Fro-Soph team. This also questions the Fro-Soph "MVP of the Meet". Since the error was caught extremely late, the athlete (Gerardo Acosta) will remain athlete of the week. |

| Congratulations to every track athlete who competed on Friday's meet. The Boys Varsity and Boys Fro-Soph results are already posted. The Girls Varsity results will be posted early next week. | Attetion all Roosevelt students! The Track and Field Pep Rally will be held on April 7, 2000 during lunch in the gazebo. Come support the first track team of the new millenium. Runners, don't forget to smile during the pep rally because I will be taking pictures which will be posted later on the web site. |

| The Best Performers section has been added today. The girls' track archives have been completely posted. I will now start with the boys track archives. The schedule will be posted later tonight or tomorrow. |

| The incomplete boys roster has been posted up. There should be a complete boys roster before the first meet except for the runners pictures. The pictures will be taken at the first meet, so they can show off their track uniforms. The same goes for the girls roster. I will be gathering girls information this week. |
