hey you people, we just played The Nerve Centre again on March 02 2002. Due to CLEARSHOT(Derry) now being a 3-piece, they went on stage in The Main Venue first. They rocked the hall with their usual set plus a few new songs, which went down very well with the small crowd that was there. Then LINUS (Lifford) played their mixture of heavy original material and heavy covers to promote their demo, before we played our 25 minute set of all original material. SUB60(Portstewart) performed 3rd, thrashing out their original bizzarre-rock set as they bounced around the stage. PEPPERBOOK headlined the night with their heavy, heavy original rock set, playing blindingly to finish the night off with a scream. All the bands then proceeded to drink more backstage and a Jolly good time was had by all. Pepperbook are featured on the new "Energyfeilds" cd produced by The Nerve Centre. Room31 are currently recording our first E.P. @ Bayview Studios. We also have a song ("hey mister") on The Nerve Centre's "four" cd alongside Future Real,Powerslide and The Prelude. This can be purchased @ The Nerve Centre, (Magazine St) and The Nucleus(Pump St),Derry.

hey kids.....we've just played to a relatively crazy 150 people @ The Nucleus' 'First Birthday' celebrations on Friday 15th Febuary. Doors opened @ around 20:15 to let the crowd in as our very own Pierce 'drummer' Quiggley serenaded welcomed everyone from the acoustic stage with a 10 minute set consisting of Marvin Gaye and Dave Matthews songs etc.... Absint were the first band on stage in The White Room. They played what i would probably consider their best gig so far(if you haven't heard them yet watch out for their next gig). Then John Keveney played the acoustic stage for 10 while Powerslide set up for their set in The White Room. The happy-happy-mosh-pit started again as soon as Powerslide hit their first chord and continued for most of the rest of the night...then, while we set up, their was another performance on the acoustic stage. What we didn't know was that some woman had been complaining to Paddy about previous Friday night gigs @ The Nucleus. Paddy was ordered to make sure The Nucleus had its shutters down at 23:00 on the dot if not before. We were then told to be off stage by 22:40 so that the crowd would filter out earlier than usual. @ 22:42 'Big Paddy' came on stage, turned our P.A. and amps off at the wall sockets and told us to pack up. After the crowd protested a bit we turned everything back on and played an extra long (approx. 10 min)version of 'Sweetie Wrapper', which the growing mosh-pit greatly appriciated.

Our next gig will be @ The Nerve Centre with Pepperbook(Belsfast) and Sub-60(Belfast/Portstewart) and Linus. This gig will be on Saturday 2nd March 2002. This will be our first Saturday night @ The Nerve Centre, so make sure to be up early enough to see us. Doors will open @ 21:00 and admission will be £4.

The Nerve Centre's 'Four' Cd featuring: room31(us)'s"Hey Mister" (acoustic version),Powerslide's:"Log Cabin", FutureReal's:"In the End" and The Prelude's:"Brand New Chapter" is available @ The Nucleus and The Nerve Centre on demand for £4.

room31 welcome all ages to our gigs even if our venues don't. So if needed i'm sure all you youngsters can access a fake I.D outlet somewhere in town.

ARCHIVED NEWS

ok...here is the news. We have just played a resonably low-key gig with Clearsot @ The Nerve Centre on Thursday November 29th . The gig was advertised all around the town but as it was a Thursday night there ended up being a crowd mostly consisting of Clearshot's invite list and a few of their friends. Despite this fact, we had a pretty good time. We played first, then a Scottish band called "Sneak Attack Tigers" rocked the stage completely and then a German band called "For the Sake of Order" decided to blow every one away some more, before Clearshot(Derry) came on and destroyed the stage in a brilliantly constuctive way.  Thanx to everyone who came to the gig. You's made it a whole lot better than playing to an empty hall. Anyway, our next proper electric gig (that we definitely know about so far) will probably be @ The Nerve Centre with all the bands from the forth-coming Nerve Centre CD.This line up includes room31,Powerslide(newbreed), Future Real, and The Prelude. This promotional gig will coinside with "4-play"'s release date:-Both were advertised to be on November 29th 2001, but due to the fact that a thursday is a crap day to release and promote a Cd, The 3 Nations gig (featuring: room31(Derry), Sneakattack Tigers(Scotland),For the Sake of Order(Germany) and Clearshot(Derry)) was on Nov 29th and  the 4-play 'release and promotional gig' date is now set to be: friday,07th  december  .all round, it should be a fun-filled day and night for most of the family!

room31 welcome all ages to our gigs even if our venues don't. So if needed i'm sure everyone has access to a local fake I.D outlet somewhere in town

We (room31) also plan to advertise the 4-play Cd by playing an acoustic set on Channel 9, for the first time in a long time,on the night time show-"We Don't Stop" on December 4th 2001. Everyone should watch it for a laugh.
