Mira - a local woman from Mistwood village

t was nearing evening, and Mira made a quick stop at the Broken Shovel after work, quickly wolfing down a bowl of delicious stew. The inn was quiet at this time, she sat with two others, keeping up a light discussion as she downed her food in a hurry. There was this young woman, and a much older-looking man. Mira told them a little about her work, how she'd worked on the fields the whole day, and about the early hour she'd have to get up the next morning. After finishing off her bowl, Mira bid them all farewell and hurried away home, exhausted and eagerly wanting to get to bed.

Rasa - a vampire hunter

Rasa, a travelling vampire hunter, had been wading through forest, swamps and muck for a while now, the only comfort found in his bottle of booze and in his companions. His companions, Laria and Olir, were equally irritated, and wanted nothing more than to drink and relax for a while. Why did they think the vampire went through the swamp, anyway? It clearly wasn't there! Who's stupid idea had it been, to go to the swamp? Rasa was tired, irritated, more than a little drunk and just wanted some relaxation, so they all headed for the tavern nearby. As he entered the tavern, he noticed it was quite full, but that didn't disturb him in the least. He loudly followed his companions to the nearest table, plunking down with all his weapons laid before him. The tavern boy took some time in getting him his drink, and that made him even more irritated. At the same time, he was a little bit nervous inside. The vampire had to be close, and they had to warn everyone and try to weed out the vampire. Olir had found a silver on the floor, which was good, since they barely had any money left besides that. At least the silver paid for their drinks. After some chatting, Rasa decided to brashly tell the whole tavern his favourite story, about the great albino wolf he'd slayed. Olir and Laria also decided to join in and they started off the vampire hunt by plucking out garlic and yelling to the tavern guests that they all had to try it out. Off course, some were eager to try it, some where not, and people soon got irritated. A group of soldiers decided to meddle with things, and Rasa soon found himself staring at the bitter face of a soldier. Great. Really fabulous. It didn't take long for them to be 'escorted' out of the tavern, by the soldiers, at arrowpoint nonetheless, and Rasa of course loudly protested all the time, but it was of no use. Their weapons were carelessly tossed after them, and the little group was forced to leave. Rasa and his companions hang out nearby for a while, then decided to leave, but Olir went back, and after a while they saw no other way than to go too, Olir hadn't returned. This was when everything went wrong, the soldiers behaved oddly, and only now Rasa noticed that Moran was one of the soldiers, and something was definitely wrong. Soon he found out: Olir had been killed, and a number of things had been done to the body to ensure he didn't become a vampire. Laria was crying, clutching at Moran, Rasa could merely stare and growl, furiously trying to figure out what to do. After a long while of trying to get to the tavern and kill the vampire and arguing with the soldiers, Laria and Rasa just decided to leave before it was too late, but once they'd walked a bit along the road, Laria saw some movement in the forest, Rasa had just enough time to draw his sword before something came at him, a quick flash of metal, and agony followed...

Dani - a servant at the tavern

Dani, short for Daniel, was helping out at the tavern as usual, with his wife, when the merchant showed up once again. This time, though, there seemed to be something interesting going on. The merchant had a map, and several people, including the innkeepers wife, seemed to be interested of this map. Dani's wife urged him to join the group of tresure hunterers, to get some well-needed money. Dani was reluctant to do it, he felt they had enough money and didn't need desperate and dangerous methods as this. The wife won, though, and a grumpy Dani was forced to join a small number of people. There was the innkeepers wife, the storyteller, two villagers and apparently an apprentice of some sort, named Vairon. They found the treasure quite easily, but the wooden chest was buried deep. Luckily they had a young, strong man with them, who managed to dig it up quickly. Dani didn't even dare to try, he didn't want to get his hands dirty if there was a chance of someone else doing it. The chest was, disappointingly, mostly filled with papers which Dani couldn't even read, but there was some money too, so it wasn't a complete waste. Once on the way back, some people from the tavern had come wandering after us, telling something about a ghost. Apparently there was some kind of ghost at the tavern.
