"Bucyrus- Rites will be conducted at 3 pm Wednesday at the Munz Funeral home for Mrs Mabel G. Ward, 69, Columbus, wife of Arthur C. Ward, native of North Robinson, who died Sunday in Grant Hospital. Burial will be made in the Campbell Cemetery.

"A tragic logging accident in Bellfontaine was the cause of the death Thursday afternoon for Richard Weir, 49, of 402 E. Mansfield St., New Washington. No details of the accident were available at press time."
Born Mansfield July 27, 1928, married Ruth Cramer 7-2-1955; she survives. Surviving children are Gary, Daniel, Randall, Rickie, Sandra and Susan, all at home.
Was a self employed logger, owned Weir trucking.

"Mrs Veronica A. Weithman, 72 of Galion, died at 1:30 today in People's Hospital in Mansfield. Her husband, Alfred, died in 1931.
Born July 26, 1896, in Crawford County, she was the daughter of John and Mary Burger Pifher. She was a member of St Joseph Church and Golden Age Club and had been employed by Stratbury Mfg. Co.
Surviving are two sons, Eugene of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Gilbert, Bellfontaine; a daughter Mrs Charles Briggs of Bucyrus, 9 grandchildren; 2 brothers John Pifher of Mansfield and Isadore of Eggertsville NY, and five sisters Mrs Nellie Durnwald of Galion, Mrs Charles Etzwiler of Mansfield, Mrs george Wechter of Tiffin, Mrs William Mirtes of Norwalk and Mrs Clarence Hay of Monroeville. "Bucyrus-- Mrs Mary A. Welty, 76, of 833 Rogers St died at 2:30 pm Sunday afternoon at her home. She had been ill one year.
Born Sep 20, 1881, in North Robinson, she was the daughter of Joseph A. McClintock and Mary Ellen Bogan. She was married Nov 8, 1942, to Fred Welty, who survives, along with 2 stepsons...
Other survivors are 5 grandchildren, a brother Scott McClintock of Toledo, and one sister, Mrs Garnet Larcamp of Mount Vernon. She spent her life in this vicinity and was a member of Epworth Methodist Church in Bucyrus..... Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.."
"George White, 82, Former Galionite, Dies In California: Funeral Services were held in Los Angeles today for George White, 82, a former grain dealer in this community. He was a prominent real estate, petroleum and lumber businessman in Los Angeles where he died Thursday.
Before going west, Mr. White was associated with the late C.E. Switzer in the hay and grain business, over 35 years ago. He left Bucyrus in 1921 for the west and had lived in North Robinson.
His wife, who died several years ago, was the former Myrtle Smith of North Robinson. A sister, Mrs. Daniel Richardson of Mt. Gilead, is among the surviving relatives in this area." Bucyrus T-F, Monday 28 Jan 1957
"A Morrow Co. couple met violent death in an auto-train accident at the New York Central crossing of SR 100, approximately 2 miles north of Iberia, in Morrow Co. this morning at about 7:30, according to a report by the state highway patrol.
Dead are Bruce Williams, 70, and Mrs Nina Williams, 64 of near Iberia.
The couple had previously been married and divorced and recently made plans to be remarried.
The car was demolished when hit by an eastbound Erie baggage and express train and bodies of both victims were badly mangled. Mrs Williams was driving. The Morrow Co. coroner had not completed his investigation this morning.
They were on their way to the home of a friend, LB Kerr, who lives near the crossing.
The bodies were taken to the Volk funeral home in Galion by the Snyder ambulance of Galion.
The train, which hit the car was the Erie's No. 12. The accident occured at a New York central crossing because both Erie and NYC trains use the same right-of-way between Marion and Galion....
Both were long time residents of Morrow Co. She was born in Galion Apr 30, 1884 and he in Morrow Co. in Sep of 1877.

"Mrs Jessie Allaback Verity, 50, of 378 South Prospect Street, a former restaurant operator, died yesterday at 4:15 pm at City hospital. In ill health for some time she was admitted to the hosp. Monday for treatment.
Until last summer Mrs Verity operated a restaurant at 808 Bellfontaine ave. for several years.
She was born in Galion on Nov 25, 1889 to William Allaback, a native of Richwood, and Anna Shoemaker Allaback, a native of Lancaster.
Mrs Verity came to Marion from Galion 24 years ago.
Surviving are the mother, who lives in Galion, and a sister, Miss Julia Allaback of Caledonia.

"Harry J. Warden, 78, of North Robinson died at 12:45 pm Sun in Bucyrus Comm Hosp following a stroke. He became ill Tues. Since retiring at 65 from work at the Crawford Steel Co., he had repaired clocks and watches.
Born Aug 12, 1880 in North Robinson... On June 20, 1904 he married Annetta Bogan. He was a member of the North Robinson EUB Chruch.

"Galion-- John W. Whiteman, 76, of Galion, died at 5:30 pm Monday in Community Hosp where he was admitted a few days following the death of his wife on Jan 30.
A farmer, he had done truck farming on the north edge of Galion many years before retiring. He was a WW 1 veteran and had served in France.
Born Apr 12, 1895, north of Galion, he was a son of W. J. and Ida Shawber Whiteman. He married Mrs Elizabeth Rensch in 1955.
Surviving are three step-daughters....

He is survived by the wife, Matilda; two daughters, Mrs Ben Green of Tiffin and Mrs Ira Shade of Chatfield Tp; two sons Lewis Wiegman at home, and Edwin, of Beaver PA; 4 bros and three sisters, all of PA. "Mrs Ralph S. Wilson. Bucyrus-- Mrs. Arminta Wilson, 65, of Bucyurs died at 8:15 pm Friday in Galion Comm Hosp. Ill since March, she was admitted to the hospital Sep 14. Her husband, Ralph S. Wilson, died March 10, 1951. She was a practical nurse at the hospital six years.
Born Oct 10, 1893, in Marion Co. she was a daughter of Miles C. and Anna Roston. In 1912 she married Lucius Kepler who died Jan 23, 1932. The following year in April she married Mr. Wilson. She was a member of Woodlawn EUB Church ..... Surviving are two daughters, Mrs James Ulmer of Parcher Rd. near Bucyrus and Mrs Harold Pollock of Bucyrus; four grandchildren; a brother.....burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery...." "Sad Suicide. Mrs. G. K. Winter, of Galion, committed suicide Monday night by drowning herself in a well. She was missed by her family about 10 o'clock and early Tuesday morning her body was discovered in the well on their premises. She was undoubtedly temporarily insane on account of business and family troubles. Her husband keeps a shoe store and she was greatly worried over debts wihch she feared would compel to close up. This with other troubles is supposed to have preved on her mind until it gave way. Her husband was in the insane asylum up to a short time ago and her brother committed suicide three or four years ago by hanging himself. Her maiden name was Shumaker, and she was a sister of John J. Shumaker, one of the best known farmers in Polk Township." Crawford County News, 8-30-1888
"Hemorrhage Fatal to Arthur L. Wood, Former Resident.
Arthur L. (Lenny) Wood, 66, of 2655 Collins avenue Dayton former engineer at Piqua Memorial hospital, died at the Good Samaritan hospital Dayton at 12:30 am, today of a cerebral hemorrhage.
He had suffered from diabetes for three years and was a patient at the Good Samaritan hospital for eight weeks.
Born July 23, 1879 at Milford, New Hampshire he was the son of John and Eliza Califf Wood and had resided for many years in Piqua. Twelve years ago he resigned as engineer at the Piqua Memorial Hospital and later accepted a position as engineer of the Third St Station of the Dayton Power and Light Company in Dayton. He was a member of the Ohmer Park Evangelical church at Dayton.
Surviving are his wife Etta Benedict Wood, two daughters, Mrs. John Freeman (Helen) of route 3, Piqua, and Mrs LeRoy Bushnell (Dorothy) at home, and two grandchildren, Jack and Reynold Freeman of route 3 Piqua. A sister preceded him in death.

"Services for Mrs Emma Esther (Lewis) Wood, 93, a Mansfield resident originally from Morrow County, will be held at 2pm Fri in Postle-Hale Funeral Home in Marysville.
She died at 4:30 am Wed in Elmhurst Convalescent Center at Westerville. Her husband, Perry N., died in 1942. Before moving to Mansfield she had resided in Union Co. 30 years.
In 1901, she married Dr. Luther B. Shumaker who died in Galion in 1916. The following year she remarried. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mansfield and Richland Co. Golden Age Club.
Surviving are 5 daughters. Mrs R. B. (Twila) DeWitt and Mrs Doris Lee of Marysville, Mrs John (Iris) Looney and Mrs James (Marjorie) Porter of Columbus and Mrs Alex (Mary) Walker of Mansfield, 17 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

Interment was made in Union Cemetery. Mrs Zaebst was born in Crawford Co. and lived here her entire lifetime. Survivors are the husband, Fred Zaebst; 2 sons, Irvin of Tiro and Maurice of New Washington and 5 daughters, Mrs ocie May of Mansfield; Mrs Hazel Amstutz, Shiloh; Mrs Florence Carle, Carleton, Mich., Mrs Gladys Moon, Tiro, Mrs Doris Dutsche, Crestline." "Galion, Aug 10-- Mrs Cora Alice Zerbach, 85, a lifelong resident of Galion until 14 mos ago when she went to live at the Scott rest home in Bucyrus, died there suddenly at 12:55 pm Thur. She was born in Galion, May 6, 1860, a daughter of Adam and Nancy Beck Shumaker. She was twice married, first Fred Petri in 1879 and then to George Zerbach, both preceding her in death. Mrs Zerbach was a member of the United Brethern Church of Galion, the societies of the church, a charter member of the Daughters of America, and a member of the Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Surviving are one son, Harry L. Petri, 479 Forest St., and 2 sisters, Mrs Della Smith and Mrs Susan Snyder, both of Galion... Burial will be made in Fairview Cem..." Marion Star, Friday, 10 Aug 1945
