Performing at "The Bowery"
6 nights a weeks for 8 months of the year, takes up a lot of my
time, but, in February of this year, George Clinton (Alabama Recording
Engineer), Hassell Teekel (Road Manager & Keyboardist for
Mark Collie), and I produced a 6 song demo at Bayou Studios in
Nashville. The recording session was lead by Joe Spivey (John Anderson's Fiddle Player) and featured some of the top studio musicians, including: Greg Galbraith (guitar), Owen Hale (drums), Bob Wrey (bass), Rusty "Doc" Hurse on the pedal steel. We recorded a couple of my own songs along
with songs sent to me from several of Nashville's top songwriters,
including: Kenny Beard who had big hits with both George
Strait & Tracy Lawrence, and Jimmy Yeary who had hits
with Randy Travis and most resently, Joe Diffy. I am getting this music to record companys and
actively seeking a Country Music recording contract. Since, I
can't be in 2 places at once, luckily I have several people in
Nashville, who believe strongly enough in my talent, they are
spending a lot of their time doing the "leg-work" for
me. I can't express how much I appreciate all the help they are
giving me. Thanks Guys! You can now get your own CD of this Demo! If you are interested, they are ONLY $8.00 + $1.25 Postage. Who knows, they might be a collectors item someday! Just e-mail me for the details! (E-Mail Link Located At The Bottom Of This Page).
Sad News. My friend & bandmate Rusty "DOC" Hurse passed away Saturday, October 11, 2003 at his home in Hendersonville, TN. Doc is pictured here with his "Little Man", Rusty Jr. Little Rusty was Doc's pride and Joy. Doc and I worked together at The Bowery. He played Steel Guitar on the "Bounty Hunter's 2002" CD. He was also instrumental in getting me to Nashville to record my Demo Project. He loved playing music and riding his Harley Davidson. He was an avid outdoorsman. When he wasn't behind a Steel Guitar, He was behind a fishing pole,.... Usually with a lunker Bass on the line. He was a great talented brilliant person. I am proud he called me his friend. I will miss him a lot. God Bless You Doc!!!
In 2000, I assembled this 347ci Stroker
Engine from a 89 Ford 5.0 block. It is equipped with some of the
best components available for street/strip engines such as: Lunati,
Edelbrock, Crane, Crower, Melling, Triton Engineering, Ford Motorsport,
Carter AFB, Cloyes, Keith Black, and Clevite 77. This balanced
and blue-printed motor produced about 350 horsepower using the
GT-40p cast heads that I ported and polished. I spent about 8
months gathering the parts and working on this engine. I was building
it to use as the power plant for a 1967 Shelby Cobra kit-car,
but I sold this complete engine project to purchase a chassis
to build my dream car.... The Shelby Cobra
(May 2001) The Cobra I
am building. It's an EVERETT-MORRISON 1967 427SC Shelby Cobra
Replica. Authentic 4" tube Frame is equipped with a Mustang
II front (coil-over) suspension and a straight-axel leaf spring
rear. I am using a 1973 Ford 351 Windsor Engine I rebuilt with the following parts: Eagle SIR I-beam Rods, ARP bolts, Clevite 77 bearings, Keith Black 10.5:1 Flat-top pistons, Speed-pro Rings, Ported X302 Ford Racing Aluminum Heads (Comp Cams Springs, Seals & Locks), Ferrea SS Undercut Valves, Ford Motorsports 1.60 Roller Rockers, ARP head studs, Comp Cams High lift Cam, Comp Cams Double Roller Timing Chain, Weiand High Volume Water Pump, Weiand Stealth Polished Aluminum Intake, Road Demon 625 cfm Carb, COBRA Oval air cleaner & COBRA Valve covers. I should be getting about 350-360 Horsepower out of this setup. I have Dynoed the motor. I need to add a better distributor (Probably MSD) and ignition system now. That's the only weak spot. I am using the matching 1973 C4 automatic transmission. Both engine and trans came from the same vehicle. I am using a Ford 8" posi-traction rearend. I added a Lokar Trans-Mount Shifter that gives the appearence of a stick shift. Wheels are
made by American Racing Equipment (A.R.E.). I will keep these
until I can save up for the proper Halibrand-Style wheels. I added
ceramic coated sidepipes for some shine, and the Polished Stainless
Roll-bar kit was just added with the welding done by Bob Levine
of "Carolina Cobras and Fast Fords" (making your dreams
kick-asphalt) in Murells Inlet, SC. I've finally located a lot
more parts (Steering column, Shaft and U-Joints, Wiring Harness,
and YES,.... a BODY!). I'll begin assembly with these part around
the end of April. Remember: "Putting a Chevrolet engine in
a Shelby Cobra is Like Cussing In Church! I have been working
on this for almost 2 years now. The following pics are my Cobra
as of 9-15-02. Since these pics, I have had the front springs
cut down which put the bottom of the oil cooler (smaller hole
in front) intake right at 6 inches off the ground. The car is
complete except for body emblems, final body prep and paint work.
Doesn't this look like a fun way to cruise around the beach?

other bands throughout the Mid-West and
Eastern United States. I have played in many night clubs, lounges,
and honky tonks. I've played for Moose, Elk, American Veterans,
Politicians, Shriners, Young Farmers, Contractors, Chemists and
Bikers. So, all said and done, I have played just about every
kind of modern music for just about every type of person. And........
oh yeah, I played with the BEATLES once, when RINGO was ill. Don't
believe me?........ I have proof. Here's a picture of me as "RONGO".
