Mortlake is situated 35 minutes North of Warrnambool on the Hopkins Highway and 1 1/2 hours from Geelong on the Hamilton Highway It is a rural community situated in the heart of the South West.
Mortlake has many old bluestone buildings, churches, stables and houses.
Mount Shadwell is Mortlake's dormant Volcano. It provides a wonderful opportunity to fossick for Olivine. Mortlake is part of the Volcanic Hinterland Tourist Route.
Located within easy reach of the Great Ocean Road and the Grampians National Park Mortlake makes a great stopover and provides a perfect location for a day of rest
