PHOENIX -- A 12-year-old boy will be turned over to a juvenile detention facility after he brought a loaded gun to school, Maricopa County sheriff's deputies said.
Deputies were called to Queen Creek Middle School at 20435 S. Ellsworth Road on Wednesday.
A middle school employee observed the the boy demonstrating to other students how to load and unload the 9 mm pistol, deputies said.
The employee confiscated the loaded weapon, and school officials notified the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, investigators said.
