LHS Band had a great turn out for colorguard this week. We have filled 25 spots! The girls worked hard this week to grasp fundamental skills. Nikki Wynn is returning to lead the guard in 2008.
Rebecca Tompkins was chosen to lead the Gator Band as Drum Major in 2008. The Assistant Drum Major is Whitney Coleman. Jennifer Mills instructed the students during camp, and will join the staff in 2008. Mrs. Mills served as Drum Major at Wren High School in the upper state. She is currently teaching at Hillcrest Middle School in Sumter School District 2.
The band has been working hard on marching music the past 2 weeks. The Gator Band theme for 2008-09 is Pirates of the Caribbean.
