| CHECK LIST FOR BOATING Be sure you have the boat keys Turn on blowers Open engine compartment and sniff for fumes and look around Check bilge for water. Foreward bilge also Turn on battery switch Check engine oil level Check outdrive and steering oil level Check lights if you will be out at night Turn on electronics after starting engine Check electronics, gauges, and antennas check the weather Be sure you have enough fuel If more passengers than usual, be sure there are life jackets for all Disconnect dockside power cord See if waste tank needs pumping Check water tank Tilt down and tabs in correct position Secure items for rough water Correct charts and GPS route plotted Check for all needed personel items Outdrive down before starting Lines and bumpers secure when underway Step up Make a habit of looking at your fire extinguisher to see if its charged and every couple of month shake it and bump it with your hand to keep the chemicals loose |
