The Jaded One
Chapter Two

Rowen ate some of his food.  It was good yes, but he wasn’t that hungry.  He sat in a haze for a while, until someone broke him out of his spaced off thoughts.
"Hey Rowen are you okay?  You don’t seem to have much of an appetite," Sage commented.
Rowen looked at Sage for a minute, then shrugged. "I guess that I’m not that hungry, that’s all."
"Is the food okay?" Cye asked him, a little worried.
"Yeah, the food is fine Cye, it’s great, it’s just I’m not really hungry."
"Can I have what you’re not going to eat then?" Kento asked.
Rowen looked at him with an, ‘are you insane or what?’ look on his face, but just shrugged. "I don’t care Kento, do whatever you want, I’m gonna go see if I can find Ryo."
"Thanks man," Kento replied, grabbing his plate as Rowen stood up and went upstairs.
Cye looked over at Sage.  "Do you know what’s wrong with him?"
Sage shook his head.  "I don’t know, he’s been fine up until now, maybe Ryo knows."
"And where is White Blaze?  He hasn’t been hanging around the kitchen at all, I first noticed when I had more room in the kitchen when I only had Kento in there."
"Hey, you know that tiger, he’s usually with Yulie or Ryo, and my guess is that he’s with Yulie if he was out playing this morning." Kento suggested.
Mia came through the kitchen door with Yulie in front of her carrying a plate of food.
"Where’s Rowen?" Mia asked.
"He said he went to go find Ryo, but he seemed like he was in a haze though, like he was thinking about something else," Sage answered.
"Yes, he seemed almost a little sad," Cye, added, nodding.
"What are you guys talking about?  He’s just not hungry, maybe he needs more sleep." Kento said.
Sage and Cye exchanged a worried look for an instant, then smiled, and shook their heads.
"Where did he go?" Mia asked, with a hint of worry on her face.
"He went upstairs, he said that he was looking for Ryo." Sage answered.
"Did you see Ryo at all when you went out to get Yulie Mia?" Cye asked.
"Nope, only me and White Blaze were outside," Yulie answered for Mia.
Mia went upstairs to look for Ryo and Rowen.

Rowen headed up the stairs.  He looked into Ryo’s room, to see if he was there, which he wasn’t.  Rowen sighed.  He didn’t know where Ryo was.  It was almost like he disappeared.  Rowen shook his head.  He headed into his room to think.  Why had he had that dream again?  How long had it been since he had had that dream?  One or two years at least.  Why had it returned again?
He walked over to his dresser, and opened the top small drawer.  After a while of rummaging underneath some miscellaneous things, mostly a bunch of wolf pictures, he pulled out a picture of him and a girl with golden blond hair, jade green eyes, and a beautiful smile.  They had their arms on each other’s shoulders as they sat on a fallen tree in a forest near their homes.  Her hair fell down in waves like sunlight, and her eyes reflected the beauty of the scenery around them.  Rowen laughed at himself.  He hadn’t changed that much since he was thirteen.  Oh sure, it’s only been about four or five years, but still.  Same hair, same style, same headband.  Crazy.  Rowen looked closer at the picture, and he could see Cora’s jade on her necklace.  She always made a deal out of her jade, how she thought that it gave her some kind of extra strength, but it was more of a joke than it was an actual belief of hers.  He smiled a sad smile to himself, then put the picture back in its drawer.
Rowen continued his search of Ryo.  He decided to go into the lounge, where he and the others would go if they just wanted to hang out and not go downstairs, it had a balcony.  Rowen looked around in the lounge, there was no sign of Ryo.  Where could he be?  More importantly, what could he be doing?  Rowen wandered out onto the balcony and gazed out across the lake.  Then he got that sixth sense feeling, that he knew some evil minion was somewhere nearby.
"Rowen?" Mia asked from the doorway.
"Huh?  Oh, it’s you Mia," he said, a little distracted by the strange feeling he was getting.
"Rowen, are you okay?  The others are saying that you seem a little sad, what’s wrong?" Mia asked sympathetically.
"I’m okay Mia, I’m just getting this strange feeling, like something from the dynasty is close by.  I think that maybe I should go check it out," Rowen said, not turning around to face her.
"The dynasty?  Do you think that might be where Ryo could be?"
"I won’t know until I get there, tell the other’s to come as soon as they can."
Rowen jumped down from the balcony, transforming to his sub armor as he did.  He ran towards the direction that this strange feeling was leading him.
Mia just stood there in amazement for about two seconds, and then ran down the stairs to alert Sage, Cye, and Kento.
