Such fun to hear what everyone's been up to! I've been married for 17 years, Shawn and I have three busy children--Kayla, who's 14 (and very tall!), Garrett-12, and Mckensie-8. Just about all I can say is that life sure is busy! I work part time as a Surgery Scheduler at a large OB/GYN office nearby Valley Medical Center, after working for ten years in the E.R at Highline Hospital in Burien, I was ready for a change. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
Caldwell (-Benjamin), Heather
Gig Harbor, WA
Let's see, I am 20 years older and . . . . I have 2 kids (ages 5 & 8) and a husband of 10 years. After I graduated from WSU, I went to graduate school in Wisconsin and got my Masters in Social Work. We moved back to Washington (SO very happy to see the Puget Sound again), got jobs, and very promptly started a family, almost too promptly. My husband and kids and dog and cat and I live in Gig Harbor. I am a stay at home mom with periods of sanity. Not many though, so don't expect too much should you meet me on the street. My life seems much fuller when I am busy living it, but on paper it is a bit drab, yes? I look forward to seeing everyone at the 20 year reunion.

Jensen, Kurt
Philadelphia, PA
After majoring in philosophy and biochemistry in college, I immediately abandoned any practical advantages they may have conferred, and have spent the last years involved, somehow, in literature and the arts. After returning to Seattle after college in New York City, I began (nominally) reviewing books in Seattle, while working on a masters at the University of Washington, and for some years conducted the Elliott Bay Readings Series. Hired away to work in Los Angeles, I was director of the Lannon Foundation's literary Arts and Letters program--a grant-giving, not-for-profit organization. After taking on some modest amount of script writing work in Los Angeles for Warner Brothers, I left to edit books with Villard Publishers in New York. I elected, after this time of skirting around the edges of creating original writing, to plunge into it whole, this time south, to Philadelphia, where the wend has withered me lately. I am putting the final touches on a novel, (!) to be published (with the smile of Fortuna, bless her heart) in Spring 2002), and will begin work on a non-fiction project on suffering. I spend each day grateful and stunned to be alive; at 30, my kidneys fastened into the tight clench of renal failure, and I spent 5 years in a chair, on dialysis, for four hours a day, three times a week, awaiting a transplant. The death of an anonymous donor (bless her heart, too) made a kidney and a pancreas available; I am now healthy as a giddy calf, and free of the diabetes that corroded my health for so many years. I am single, which does not reflect any particular matrimonial (or for that matter, paternal) antipathy; I seem simply not yet to have stumbled lucky. These days are spent at work, among friends, and in the infinite preparedness for things to be otherwise. Because for all of us, thank goodness, they will be.

Odom (Cobbin), Valerie
Atlanta, GA
Hi every one... I can't believe it has been 20 years already! I am really looking forward to seeing all of you. After graduation, I went to the University of Washington, graduated and worked in retail management for several years. In 1989 I went back to school in Atlanta to get my Masters in Business Administration. While I was in school I met my husband. We both got jobs in Atlanta and I have been there ever since. I do miss Seattle alot. After we got married and had a child we both realized that the life we were living was just too crazy, with both of us working long hours and traveling. So we decided it was best for everyone if I stayed home for a little while with the kids. I have enjoyed being at home even though it can be kind of wild times. It has given me the time to think about what I would really like to do when I go back to work and and to appreciate life in a way that I never did while I was working.

Purdy, Jann
Hillsboro, OR
After high school, I wanted to continue with school and moved to N. Carolina for 4 years of college. I graduated with a degree in Psych. and moved to Paris because I was learning French and wanted to learn more about the culture. After two years, I missed school so much I went back for another eight years! In 1996 I graduated from Berkeley with a Ph.D. in French Literature and taught in some schools for awhile. In the meantime, I met the man of my dreams and had two children with him (ages 5 and 2,). We somehow decided to buy a farm near Portland! I am, thus, currently a professional play- dough instructor, diaper changer and...well...novice plum farmer (we have 2 acres of Italian plums). My only hobby at the moment is reading which I try to do at every moment I can (which is usually about 2 minutes before I fall asleep exhausted!). It's been great reading about how everyone has been doing over the past twenty (can it really be?) years, except that it means ! I can no longer delude myself that I am still only 24 years old. Thanks to all those on the committee for all the hard work.

Sceli (Service), Lisa
Auburn, WA
Since high school, I attended SPU for a year, then worked at a law firm the next 7 years. While working full time, I completed evening paralegal courses at Edmonds Community College. I then left the law firm and worked at a sales company for a few years - this is where I met my wonderful future husband, Randy (he had come to the 10-year reunion with me). We headed up to Canada and got married in September of 1993, then returned to Seattle within a year and Randy started his own company. For about 4 years, I worked in the UW Dean of Medicine's Office. In September of 1997, we had our first child, Chase Gordon (4 1/2). On April 28, 1999, came our second child, Savanna Georgia (3). And, on October 10, 2000, Jordon David (18 months) was born. With what spare time that I do have, I enjoy doing portrait photograhpy and gardening. Randy and I are working hard and enjoying our beautiful kids - AND trying to remember not to take life and good health for granted. I look forward to seeing all of you at the reunion!

I have 5 children (1 girl, 4 boys [16yr boy, 12yr girl, 9yr boy, 8yr boy, 7yr boy,). I live in Olympia, and after I left high school, I went to collage in Arkansas to play basketball. I am working with my oldest son on his basketball skills (Glenn Jr). I have currently started (on the side) a corporation that is trying to go Public with in the next 2 years. I rarely see anyone from the class. Would like to here from anyone that remembered me from school.
