Rutgers Alma Mater
On the Banks of the Old Raritan
My father sent me to old Rutgers,
And resolv'd that I should be a man;
And so I settled down, in that noisy college town,
On the banks of the Old Raritan.

Then sing aloud to alma mater,
And keep the Scarlet in the van;
For with our motto high, Rutgers' name shall never die
On the banks of the Old Raritan.

From New Jersey's northern lakes and mountains,
To our southern pines and gleaming shore;
Learing's fair and hallowed place, joins us,
    every creed and race,
And we praise the name of Rutgers evermore.

Chorus:  On the banks of the Old Raritan, my friend,
Where old Rutgers evermore shall stand;
For has she not stood since the time of the flood,
On the banks of the Old Raritan.
The winds of change, regardless of whether or not they usher in fair or foul times, break the stagnancy of life.  They offer fresh oxygen for our minds and our souls.  As we weather out the sunshine and storms of life, we sit beside our friends who listen to us, laugh with us, and share precious moments with us.  If there is a lesson to be learned from the events of this semester, it is that we could not have gone through it without one another.  Tensions may have flared at times with frustrations of trying to get others to see our point of view, but those tugs and pulls on our emotions made them stronger as we grew closer and closer to each other.  Always remember those who stand by you through life - they will challenge you to grow and dare you to breathe the air brought about by the winds of change.  Friendships and romances are priceless and have endured the trials and tensions that we have faced.  This semester has shown us the importance of life and the sharing of the human spirit with others.
