Some photos taken in Bryce Canyon, Utah in September 2001. The “Hoodo” formations were believed by ancient Native Americans to be persons that were turned to stone by angry gods. To avoid further angering the gods, the Native Americans stayed out of Bryce. Or so the legend goes.
