RONAN IN THE LIVE LOUNGE

-- 17th April, 2001

Ronan Keating came into Radio 1's Live Lounge to have a chat and sing for Nemone. He did a special version on Blur's 'Tender' as well as his new single 'Loving Each Day'.

You've got a massive arena tour coming up, how do feel about going out alone?

I'm really looking forward to it. It's quite scary really because just six months ago I did a city hall tour and it was not even half the size of an arena tour. To be out there on my own without the rest of the guys is quite daunting. But, I'm looking forward to it.

Do you think you need to play concerts anymore?

Yeah, it's the only reason we do this. Getting up on stage is what it's all about.

Are you going to be putting on a real show with costume changes and the like?

No, no, it's about the music.

The new single is co-written by Gregg Alexander of the New Radicals, who has written for Texas, Rod Stewart and loads of people, is he a compulsive song writer?

Yeah. He did it with the New Radicals and didn't like doing it, not been able to walk down the road without people recognising and all that sort of thing. He decided he wanted to stay in the music industry and just write songs for people, and he's loving each day. I was lucky enough to get my hands on him and he wrote a few songs for me, the first one been 'Life's a Rollercoaster' and we are working on the second album already.
