General RULES and TIPS to further improve your games and enjoy your matches.

 

No coaching is allowed during the entire game even during breaks.

 

There will be a change court after every odd-game. At change court, players are given a one-minute break starting from the third game and three-minute break between sets.  Injury time can only be given per match for a maximum of 10 minutes.  Any further call for injury time will automatically retire the player.

 

As a general rule, NO UMPIRES WILL BE PROVIDED FOR ALL EVENTS, except for the games starting from the semis events.  You will have to call your lines.  Please try to be honest with your calls to avoid any dispute.

 

Toss-coin is compulsory before the start of the games.  The winner of the toss-coin will decide to serve or receive, the loser will choose which side court he wants.

 

Service game is always alternate even in between sets.  Ex.  If you served the last game of the first set, the other player will serve the first game of the next set regardless of who won the last set.

 

Tie-break at 6-games all.  This will be a race to seven points with slide 2.  The first serve will be at deuce court and the next service games will start at the ad court.

 

Foot-fault will only be imposed starting from the semi-finals events only.

 

Always ensure that you have two balls with you before you start your services to prevent time wasting looking for a second ball when you had a fault on your first serve.

 

Always clear the ball inside the court, the point will be awarded against you if it was hit by the ball in play and you might get injured when you step on it.

 

Players are requested to report 15 minutes before their scheduled game.  If you fail to book a free court on your or your friends condo, you may contact the Singapore Tennis Centers for tennis court booking on public courts.  Public Court fee is $9.50 per hour and will be shouldered by the players involved.  There is also a link at our website for online bookings.

In the event of unfinished matches, both the players will have to decide when to continue the match, you may opt to continue with the scores or start again from scratch.  New balls will not be provided for re-match.

 

Please note that Wilson U.S. Open will be our official ball for this tournament.

 

Tournament Balls will be distributed to the players, you will have to check who will be responsible to bring the match ball.  You may open only the cans before your match and with the presence of your opponent.  Please remember that you have to return back the sealed balls for defaulted games.  Settle who will keep the used ball before the match, mostly the losing player keeps the used balls to have more practice.
