| Freddie Aoanan of UOB defeated Maynard Suralta of Citibank to clinch the | ||
| Ronald's cup Series III Mens Title. Both were bidding for their second title | ||
| of the series. It was Maynard's 2nd loss in the series both coming from Freddie. | ||
| Freddie looked headed for defeat after a 6-1 blitz by Maynard in the first set | ||
| in just over 20 minutes and a break of serve in the 7th game of the second set. | ||
| Maynard as he serve to move 5-3 up committed 3 double faults and one unforced | ||
| error giving Freddie the game and a glimmer of hope. At 4-4, Freddie starts | ||
| to find his range and the two champions slug each other in some lengthy rallies | ||
| ending at Freddie's favor. With the momentum going, Freddie managed | ||
| to extend Maynard in a 3rd set super tie-break. As Maynard starts to show signs | ||
| of exhaustion, Freddie starts to play his tennis. (chicken!!!) | ||
| Eventually, Freddie sealed the match to the applause of the more than 1000+ | ||
| spectators at the 200,000 capacity Central Grove Condo Center Court beside | ||
| the road by winning the breathtaking super-tie-breaker at 13 - 11 using the last | ||
| of his 3 match-point when Maynard netted a backhand return. It was a relieved | ||
| Freddie during the post-match conference thanking everyone from the match | ||
| officials to the ball-boys and his legion of fans. | ||
| The final score : 1-6 6-4 13-11 | ||
