| NOTES: All the original church records I have obtained from the Archives show the spelling of the name HINT. There is roughly a 100 year period where no deviations are noted. Not until the oldest brother of Christian Hint / Hintt moved to the area around Cammin, Mecklenburg and married did the name show the spelling of HINDT. This was most likely due to the family just locating into the area and the person writing the records into the books just put it in as they thought it should be spelled, instead of simply asking. I am just going by the records as, Christian himself signed his own naturalization record as HINT, just like the name he was given on his birth record in the year 1842 and like his father on his birth record in 1799 at Dolitz, Mecklenburg. |
