There is no fixed symbol of RON. However, the main indicator and the item that symbolise the spirit of RON is a piece of paper called Medical Certificate (MC). MC varies in sizes and types and colours, that's why there's no fixed definition of the national symbol.
National Animal
The national animal of RON is the nua-cat. This breed of cat (named nua) can be found in the areas around novena. The sightings of the nua-cat is commonly seen at the MRT Station outside novena (opp TTSH).
Why the nua-cat? The brief history is as followed...When Lord Brandon is in office, the daily route he took required him to pass by Novena MRT. The recognition of nua-ness is being symbolised in the nua-cat. The arouma of Brandon is recognised by the nua-cat, which immedicately lay motionless in respect to the pressence of Lord Brandon. Bemused by this reaction, Lord Brandon dutifully identified and named the nua-cat as the national animal of RON. The nua-cat as said, can be seen at the MRT station outside TTSH.
