A Certain Point of View
Harry looked over at the only other occupant of the common room - he watched as her sparkling brown eyes hastily looked over her homework. He continued to watch as she sucked on a sugar quill, delicately twirling the wizarding candy between her lips.

She didn't know he was watching - she never did.

He thought back to how lonely she had been in her first year. One time she had looked so lost Harry had wanted to go talk to her, Ron had told him not to be daft and kept walking. Harry hadn't thought about her again until he and Ron had gone to save her life that fateful night.

She looked up from her homework and Harry ducked his head so he wouldn't be seen looking at her.

He had felt this way since the start of the year, before then he had always thought of her as a sister, how things had changed. Harry had kept his feelings to himself because he knew if Ron had found out their friendship would be ruined. Harry had breathed a sigh of relief when Ron had announced to Harry that he had a girlfriend - whom he had disappeared off to the astronomy tower with an hour ago. After all if Ron had a girlfriend he would surely be able to understand Harry couldn't help feeling the way he did.

Harry snuck a look at her - she really was beautiful - her brown eyes gleamed by the fire.

Harry gathered all his courage, it was now or never. He got up from his chair and walked over to her couch. Quietly he sat down next to her. She must have felt the couch shift ever so slightly because her head snapped up.

'Harry what are'

He held up his hand to silence her. If he didn't say it now he would spend the rest of his life regretting it.

'Willyougooutwithme?'

That hadn't been the way he'd meant to ask, but the girl whom he had fallen in love with, the girl who was sitting next to him, understood. Her eyes widened.

'Of course I'll go out with you' she said in a high pitched squeak, then she gave him a quick hug.

'Ron's not going to like this' she said once she'd broken away.

'I know' murmured Harry not really wanting to think about it.

'Who's going to tell him?' she said anxiously.

'Do we have to tell him?'

'You know he's going to find out eventually.'

Harry nodded, 'alright but you should do it, you're his sister after all.'

Ginny opened her mouth in indignation 'If anyone should do it, it's Hermione. She is his girlfriend, if he starts ranting she can shut him up with a kiss.'

Harry grinned 'would you shut me up if I started ranting' he said wickedly.

Ginny grinned, a sparkle in her eyes 'pick a topic and watch me.'
