Ron, Linda and Ronnies summer retreat at the New Jersey shore! |
| Campbucket was established in April 1996 at Bakers
acres campgorunds in Parkerstown New jersey. After years
of tent camping in three states and twenty years of
camping at the Philadelphia Folk Festable and the rainey
weather that always seems to follow tent campers. My wife
said she had enough of the tent and all of the work
setting up, breaking down and the bad weather that seemed
to follow us anywhere we camped lately. In 1995 we had stayed at a friends campsite at Bakers acres and where amaze at the convence of trailer camping. So when a trailer and a lot became available we jump on the chance of being in the great outdoors agains and bought a 1983 32 foot Citation travel trailer, that came with a small shead and a 12' x 12' screenhouse. We spent the next 9 years making friends and adding a platform under the sceenhouse and adding a 12' x 20' deck to the front of the trailer. We also added a 12' x 20' sceenroom to the front of the trailer a few years ago, but by this time our aging 22 year old trailer was becoming a money pit due to age and about 90 days of use each of the 8 seasons we had it. In the last three years we had to replace the frig, air conditioner, the toilet, the gate valves on the holding tanks, repair the black water tank, replace the propane bottles and install a new rubber roof. Now the aging floor of the trailer was getting soft and ready to be replaced, but the cost of the new trailer we wanted was just to high. Just two weeks after opening up for the 2005 season we heard of a trailer that was up forsale just around the corner from us and desided to check it out. Well, when we walked thru the door we where sold right away. This was the floor plan and size we where looking for, it's a 2001 Dutchmen 36' living area and 39' overall length two bedroom with a 14' sideout making the kitchen and living room. A 14' x 16' living area and a full size bathroom and was really worth all of the work we put into changing the trailers out. |

| The first two pictures in the photo album below are of the old trailer and it's landscaping taken in 2003. The following pictures are of the new trailer, the raising of the front porch, installing of the screenroom, all done in 4 days, with the help of Harry, Scott, Joe, Frank, Bill, Henry, Steve, Tracy and Jane. The overall lenght of the new trailer is over 39' and some bushes and a large tree had to be removed before the new trailer could be set on the lot. The lattice work and land scapping and low voltage lights where done in the next 4 weekends. We also had Scott & Rainy and Harry & Stef buy new trailers this season so we where very busy most of the time. |
