I saw a really cool thing today. The Romans had graffiti! Things were scribbled all over the walls. I bet people wanted other people to read waht they wrote and who wrote it. It's a way of getting attention, I figure. Graffiti is the plural of graffito, from the Italian, graffitio, to scratch.
Well anyway, to what I saw. I saw notes to other people, including Damn you, you got me pregnant!! There were also saying like Furum fur cognoscit et lupum luupis. Thank goodness I had my mom's Latin dictionary and could translate. It mean a thief recognizes a thief and a wolf a wolf. There was also Nemo in amore videt (no one in love sees), In omni re vincit imitationem veritas (in everything truth conquers imitation), Ibi semper est Victoria ubi Concordia est, (Where there is cooperation, there is victory), Navis, quae in flumine magna est, in mari parvula est (the ship that is big in the river is small in the ocean), Caelum, non animum, mutant qui trans mare currant, (those who cross the sea change their environment, not themselves), fames est optimus coguus (hunger is the best sauce). Well, that's about it. Wow! Tanto brevis omne quanto felicius tempus. Time flies when you're having fun
