| The Story of Roma |
| Roma was born at exactly midnight on January 1, 2001, the true millenium. Born in the wilds of Yosemite of a wolf mother, she was given two fathers: a border collie for intelligence and a labrador retriever for lovingkindness. From her mother she gets wildness, necessary for true spiritualism. This information was later passed down to us through Roma's two familiars, Remus and Romulus, and is therefore known and accepted as undisputable truth. She was suckled for six months, and then sent down into the areas populated by humans to fulfill her mission. After walking for 7 days and 7 nights over rough terrain and busy roads, she at last found her way into the town of Hanford, California, where she was able to find scraps discarded by the Imperial Dynasty, a five-star restaurant. The next morning she was captured by the Hanford animal control authorities, taken into custody, and turned over to the local SPCA. |
| Around the same time, a Unitarian missionary living in Hanford experienced an uncanny event. Her dead 6th grade teacher appeared to her in a dream, and told her he would be sending her a magic dog, who would give her delight. Dismissing the dream as a temporary message from her subconscious, the missionary nevertheless began to yearn for a dog. So great did the desire become, she went down to the local SPCA to adopt. She immediately was called by Roma, who recognized the missionary as her destined keeper, protector, and the one who would help her fulfill her mission to humankind. The series of events following her adoption are now legendary. Shortly after settling in with the missionary, Roma began following her new companion around town - to the store, to church, to the park. There she met all sorts of humans, and met them with compassion. Soon folks let go of their interspecies prejudices, and began coming to Roma for comfort, often laying thier heads on her fur, or holding their hands out to receive her paw. Always they would find that, soon after leaving her, the |
| answers to all their problems would pop into their heads, and they need only follow through to find happiness and prosperity. During this time, Roma learned the language of humans. This is her best guarded secret, for exposing this would attract attention that would distract from her mission. Shorttly thereafter, realizing her powers work better near the negative ions of the ocean, she convinced her missionary companion to move her to the California Central Coast. Predictably, her powers grow stronger each day. Now she communicates with those few in whom she senses the energy and blessing of the spheres.
