| I dreamed a dream of you Wandering through the darkness I found a source of comfort and light. You breathed to me words of compassion and love My heart filled with joy My eyes with tears I wanted to burst, Instead, I wept. Your fingertips barely brushed the trickle of water away from my cheeks. Your eyes mirrored my longing Your lips softened in a smile before carefully brushing my own And in that moment, everything changed. The roaring of wind rushed in my ears The blood in my veins heated, almost molten in its temperature The fibers of my lips tingled and swelled while meshing with yours. You electrified me, made me aware of that which I never knew. Your passion engulfed me until it became shared between us. Your soul unveiled, became one with mine Yet you pulled away, still smiling so tenderly You drifted backwards until I saw you no more. In a panic, I awoke. Last night, I dreamed a dream of you, soft and bittersweet And now I wait for the day that I dream no longer. |
