Romania - SOSage 2000 + tour
On the 5th of August 2000, the 12th VSU set off to Romania for an experince we shall never forget. In the week that followed we would be joining a camp of English helpers who would be working alongside the Romanian aid workers, organising activities and sports for the children of the orphan homes and hospital in Siret.
Following this, our group of 5 was due to leave for Galti and hopefully meet up with the last member of our unit who was already in Romania teaching. After meeting him we would move on to see the coast b4 coming inland to meet a Romanian VSU that we based in the mountains surounding Brasov.
That was the plan...
...so we arrived at our scout HQ late on the 4th in a confident mood not knowing what to expect or what would unfold as our trip progressed!
