In early September 2004, terrorists took hundreds of children and their parents hostage in an elementary school in Beslan, Russia.

Over 300 people died there, about half of them small children.  In October of 2004, volunteers took over 2000 bears to place on the graves of the dead, to comfort the survivors, and to ease the pain of the families.  This message of love conquering fear is the most powerful way to rid the world of terror.
