Brasov is Romania's main railroad crossroads in the center of Transylvania. It is also one of the original Siebenburgen - the trade towns established in the 13th century by Saxon (German) settlers.

Sighisoara Sighisoara
Medieval Sighisoara is the home of the real Prince Vlad Dracula. It is the one of the best preserved medieval towns in the world, dating from the 12th century. All of its ancient buildings are still in everyday use.

Voronet Monastery Bucovina
Bucovina is home to the Painted Monasteries built in the 15th century by Steven the Great. Their exteriors were painted with religious pictoral stories for the benefit of illiterate peasants.

Hora la Prislop Maramures
In Maramures, bordering Ukraine, local country folk celebrate the harvest every August with an outdoor music festival of song, dance, food and handicraft sales. It is held at Prislop Pass at the foothills of the Rodna mountains.

Mamaia beach The Black Sea Coast
Horseback riding on the beaches of the Black Sea is only one of the many activities enjoyed. The seacoast is also famous for its health spas and summer party life.
