How to Become a Member
Rolling Hills Baptist Church is a body of believers united by our desire to follow Jesus Christ and committed to the worship of God and to the spread of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. If you desire to join with us and will be supportive of the beliefs, fellowship, and mission of our church, we warmly invite you to become a member. Here are the two steps to becoming a member:
1. Present yourself for membership during the invitation of any Worship Service. At the close of each Worship Service, our Pastor will extend an invitation for you to come forward. You will be greeted by a minister and introduced to a friend who will guide you in your decision. 2. Express your desire for membership through one of the following means: |
By profession of faith Receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord and follow him in baptism by immersion. Baptism consistent with the New Testament teaches that baptism is by immersion and is not necessary for salvation, but is an act of obedience and a symbol of our new life in Christ.
By letter of recommendation from another Southern Baptist Church. As a Baptist whose membership is elsewhere, should God direct you here we will be happy to welcome you into our church family. Our office staff will take care of the appropriate details for the transferring of your membership. You need only to respond at invitation time and express your desire to join our church family.
By statement of faith If you know in your heart that you have a saving relationship with God through Jesus Christ and have been baptized by immersion, we will be pleased to welcome you into our fellowship upon your own personal statement of faith.
By baptism If you are coming from another church that is not consistent with the doctrinal beliefs of Rolling Hills Baptist Church and have not been baptized by immersion as a testimony of your salvation, and you know in your heart that you have a saving relationship with God through Jesus Christ, we would expect you to be baptized in obedience to Christ before being added to our church family.
