Has the feud between you two always been there or is it because of the WSL?

Micah:
I think it's because of the WSL. It's started towards the end of our speed skating career, and the WSL brought it out.

Sam:
He basically signed for more money over loyalty.

Micah, what do you do when you're not skating?

Micah:
I like to take a nap, work out, and enjoy going out on a boat.

Sam Martin, I'm wondering, with your brother having green hair, what nickname would you give him?

Sam:
I'd give him the name Chia Pet.

What were your favorite sports as kids?

Micah:
I enjoyed football and hockey and watching the Olympics.

Sam:
Ditto!

Micah:
That's one of the few things we agree on.

Who, in your opinion, is the dirtiest skater in the WSL?

Sam:
I definitely think it's D'Amato. Or John Morrissey.

Micah:
I think it's Mark D'Amato.

Micah:
The Hot Dice. Our jammers like myself and Jason, Mindy Smith, are some of the fastest.

Sam:
The Sundogs hold their ground with myself, Tom Smith and Debbie Rice.

Do you think any of your other brothers will become members of RollerJam?

Micah:
I think my little brother would be interested. He's only 13, so I've got a few years to teach him the Hot Dice way.

I'm thinking about purchasing a new pair of inline skates. Do you have any suggestions on what I should look for?

Sam:
Definitely Salomon. They definitely have the best skates for any type skating you want to do.

At age 13, Micah Martin received his first pair of inline skates, and by the time he was 15, he was a skating pro. In 1998, he was ranked third nationally.

Micah, Have you found anywhere to go rapelling yet?

Micah:
No, I haven't, but I always like to do that. In Florida there aren't too many mountains.

Sam, what is your favorite thing about skating?

Sam:
It's fun, and it's an outdoors sport that you can do. It's a simple sport.

What do you find most gratifying about being a part of RollerJam and why?

Micah:
I enjoy being able to compete in a sport that has to do with inline. It really promotes the whole sport of skating.

Sam:
It's definitely because it's inline skating -- it combines speed skating and aggressive skating.

What do you both think of the Bod Squad?

Sam:
Ha Ha -- personally, Sundog girls look much better and they are classier.

Micah:
I have two words -- show girls!

HAVE YOU LEARNED HOW TO SKI ON YOUR FEET OR DO YOU WANT SOME POINTERS?

Micah:
I've skied on two, then I got on one -- I haven't learned to ski on my feet. Since I know this question comes from Dan Gavagni, he can teach me how to ski and I'll teach him how to skate.

What are your goals and ambitions outside of RollerJam?

Sam:
To get married and raise a good family.

Micah:
To retire a wealthy, famous jammer!

When you first started in the WSL, were you intimidated by the cameras?

Sam:
Not really, because we've been on ESPN and ESPN 2 and local TV.

Sam's fans know that he is often called "The Flame" because of his amazing speed, and they've been known to hold up lighters in his honor.

Any chance for a RollerJam All-Star Jam? Who, in your opinion would the team consist of?

Sam:
It would have to be the Sundogs against anybody else who wants to try to beat us.

Have you had any serious injuries thus far this season?

Micah:
I broke two vertebrae in my neck.

Sam:
I had a bruised kneecap and a severe sprained ankle.

Micah:
That's nothing compared to my broken vertebrae.

Why is Micah always the one winning the fights?

Sam:
Because I always win the game!

Do you like all the attention you're getting from RollerJam? Is it hard to go out in public?

Sam:
It's not hard, I've noticed it a little here and there, it's humbling but cool.

Micah:
I enjoy entertaining people, it's not hard to go out in public because I enjoy talking with my fans and encouraging them to skate safely.

Yep, Micah broke his neck, but "Lime" didn't even know it until the next week! Before X-rays revealed his injury, he competed in a 100K inline race in New York City. Is that amazing, or WHAT?

Have you been to college or plan to attend?

Sam:
Not yet, but I do.

Micah:
I have not been, but I do plan to attend. I've been skating for the past four years.

Do you have a special offseason training program for RollerJam?

Sam:
Just a lot of fitness and speed skating to stay in shape and aggressive skating to practice my moves.

Could you two ever play on the same team after all the rivalry you have going on now?

Micah:
Only if Sam figures out that he's not as good as I am. And works for me not against me.

Micah, what exactly is the nature of your relationship to the "Ring Girl?"

Micah:
No comment.

I am Sam's #1 fan! What do you think of skating now that you are much more noticed on television along with your brother being noticed as well, Sam?

Sam:
I love it just as much as I always have, and I'm grateful it's not only my favorite pastime but my job.

Aside from roller jamming, Sam enjoys playing hockey and snowboarding. In fact, he was a snowboard instructor in Colorado and can jump a 25-foot cliff with no problem.

How old were you when you first started skating?

Sam:
I was 15.

Micah:
I was 14 and got my skates shortly after Sam got his.

Are you friends with any skaters from any of the other teams?

Micah:
There's a few of us that hang out, it causes problems if we have a rough game.

If it weren't for RollerJam, what would you be doing, professionally?

Sam:
I'd be snowboarding -- I was actually snowboarding yesterday.

Micah:
I'd continue my career as a professional road skater. I'd also try to make the Olympics for ice speed skating.

If you had to be traded what team would you want to play for?

Micah:
The Quakes, cause they party almost as good as the Hot Dice do.

Sam:
I don't think I'd like to play for anyone else but the Sundogs.

What advice would you give to a beginner skater?

Micah:
Have fun, wear all your pads so you don't get hurt.

Sam:
Stick with it, and bend your knees.
