Took a shower and a short nap in my new guesthouse in Vagator before I headed to Big Vagator beach. It is not as scenic as the one in Varkala but the sea is more refreshing. Vagator is missing some charm, but hey, I came for the parties!
The beach has been besieged by busloads of Indian tourists. Having no sense for privacy, it didn't surprise me that every now and then some Indian blokes just sat down beside me and started one of the typical dull and tiring conversations: "What's your name? Where are you from? Is there a difference between Austria and Australia?" I tried to be as impolite as possible and answered the questions as short as possible without moving my eyes from my book.
Well, and the parties? Goa is far away from being an Ibiza or Gran Canaria. They only have a few music clubs, which close at midnight. However, only one of them is open, as one has been closed by police for being too loud and others are closed due to yesterday's elections. They won't reopen until the result will be official, probably on Wednesday. |
