Edward Jeffries was born in 1970, the son of a normal middle class
family... and the youngest of three brothers. You can imagine
that he got beaten up quite a bit... mostly, just his older brothers
being older brothers. But, because of this, he grew up with both
a healthy respect for physical strength, and a deep-seated belief not
to use it unless absolutely necessary. Not completely out of the
world of belief, he eventually, after high school, went to Seminary
School, and became a Methodist Minister. But still, even when he
had settled into his new ministry, something felt as if it was
missing.
That's why, on his 19th birthday, he enlisted in the United States
Army.
Almost immediately out of Basic Training, he went to AIT, and then
began training to become Airborne Infantry... one of the most
hard-core of the services. But no, he would not be fighting...
he would, instead, become a Chaplain in the 82nd Airborne Infantry
unit, so that he might help those with who truly needed spiritual
guidance. Yes, he did train with them, and he did learn all of
the things they had learned... including jumping out of airplanes.
But he would never go into combat; that was not the job of a Chaplain.
Finally reaching the rank of Captain, Edward retired 10 years after
his Enlistment... and, for the past year, has been trying to fit back
in to the normal world. With the money he'd made in the Army...
and, if you save up, as an officer you can make a good deal... he'd
spent most of the last year traveling, but has now moved back to
Brentford North... and is trying to set up a normal life. He's
returned to his old neighborhood... the place he would come visit
often when he was on leave, and would, as often as not, help with as
much as possible. In the past year, those who knew him have
found him to be someone they can trust... and those who didn't know
him have discovered that he is someone they can go to when they need
help.Allies: An old friend he grew up with named
Michael Doors. Manages the Jitney Jungle (this is actually a
small-time convenience store in some southern states, not sure about
VA, but if not, another name can be used easily) in Brentford North,
in the neighborhood Edward is from.
