In centuries long ago, in a time of myth and magic and creatures
beyond description and counting… Laurana Alvinfelds was born into the
world of man and Fae. Truly the epitome of her Kith, the Satyrs, she
was without fail one of the most vibrant and most musically inclined
of whatever region she decided to stay in. And, as Autumn reared its
ugly head, Banality grew, and the gates to Arcadia closed, she was
among the first to put her hat in… so to speak… to proceed in with the
Changeling Way; in her mind, the only way to preserve love and revelry
and music was for the Fae (and not just herself; though beautiful and
talented she was, she was not overly vain) to survive.
And so it was, throughout the uncounted years, that the spirit of this
Satyr survived.
Bringing us to the year 1983, when Lorelei was born… born with the
soul of Laurana within her. This soul influenced her upbringing, as
it were… she was flirty, and energetic, and very friendly to everyone,
even as a little girl. Her parents enrolled her in classical piano
classes, as well as singing lessons… and, besides being very friendly,
those were the things she seemed to take to most readily.
As she grew up, and hit puberty, she immediately embraced the sensual
passions of life, with men or women… it never bothered her that she
really did not have a preference, nor that she didn’t want any kind of
long-term relationship. She quit piano at the age of 15, and,
instead, began to teach herself the bass guitar. Upon meeting Mike
Monroe in her singing lessons… which she quit not too long afterwards…
she joined with a then-forming band named The Caveman Architects.
Becoming their bass player, as well as doing backup vocals, she found
where she was truly happy.
Of
course, the band was not her only love. Nor was it her only vice.
She had taken to Raving… and, along with it, doing Ecstasy… building a
bit of an addiction to it. She didn’t tell any of the guys in the
band, though…
