| Scott Grayson was born the child of two lower-middle
class parents... in the world four years after the declaration that
Earth was dying. Their place in the social ladder pretty much
assured them of remaining on Earth until the last ships left, simply
because they were so poor. And Scott, as he grew, seemed to be
the true problem child. Physically weak, he was picked on a lot
in school. And his grades were almost constantly failing.
He pushed himself further and further away from the real world,
instead preferring the safety of the Virtual Reality world, in which
he seemed to actually EXCEL at everything he did... from programming
to hardware upkeep to pure and complex navigation. Other than
that, though, Scott seemed to be a lost child, with no physical or
mental prowess in anything. That is, until his 11th year... when he
took the NCI test.
Shocked would not quite describe the reaction of his parents to the
results of the test. Apparently, he was always failing simply
because his mind was so bored... his tests were almost off the scales.
Scott Grayson was a genius, one whose mind was almost constantly
moving from thing to thing, place to place, facet of reality to facet
of reality. Which would explain his love for, and success in,
the V.R. world. Almost immediately, he was hooked up to the
program, and, along with his AI (COMING SOON), was, at that time, the Sixth Ace.
Now, after the death of his compatriot, Travis Meeker, he is the
Fifth Ace. |
