History

Haldran Ardais was born in the Ardais Domain, in the Northern part of the Hellers Mountains.  The son of the Lord Ardais, and older brother to she who would become the Keeper of Arilinn Tower. Haldran was preened and raised as the heir to the Ardais Domain, to follow whenever his father passed on.  And, of course, this meant being trained in all of the things the nobility are usually instructed in.

Basic fighting, fencing (rapier-esque sword), the Ryll, and all of the Politics and political games that he would have to know in order to survive.  From the moment he could walk until early adolescence, these were the areas he was schooled in.  At the age of 12, Haldran was sent to the Monastary at Nevarsin, housed in his home Domain, for three years, a period in his life that was devoted primarily to his education; the monks were taskmasters when it came to his studies, but it was not beyond his ability to handle.  At 15, he was shipped to Thendara, where he spent three years as a cadet to the Comyn Guard, learning the arts of discipline and leadership, as well as a form of military tactics.

Beyond that, he is truly a good guy.  No, he has his moments... including a temper that tends to flare whenever anyone insults his family or his sensibilities, for instance.  Oddly enough, though, insulting HIM directly will only get you a little chiding, or even just a joking remark.  He dotes on his little sister, the Keeper of Arilinn Tower, and would do anything to protect her.  He is also close to his younger cousin, Valentine... who has decided to go career officer in the military.  And... he's very unsure of the situation currently, where the current Lord of the Ardais Domain is planning a Springtime war.

Notes:

Lord Ardais' neice Marelie has been taken hostage by the Ardais' ancient enemies, the Aldarans of Scathfell.
The heir has a couple of instant cousins (and one of them who will be like a shield-brother if he plays his cards right when he ascends to the Domain).
