Origins:Yukiko was born the daughter of a
woodcutting family... in a long line of woodcutters. She was the
eldest daughter, and was taught from an early age to cook, clean, take
care of the house, etc, while also preparing her to be a submissive,
loving, doting wife for the man her parents had chosen to be her
innazuke. As time passed, and Yukiko grew up, it was seen
that she had several innate abilities... the ability to discern a lie
simply by hearing it... as well as an easy grasp (when taught, it was
not inborn knowledge or anything) of the teachings of ancestor
spirits, and how to deal with them. And, as she reached the age
of 16, her parents were preparing to marry her to her innazuke
and give her the life they believed she deserved.
However, there was a legend within their family, one
they did not even believe... but that was true in every respect.
A century before, Yukiko's great-great grandfather, who had also been
a woodcutter, was trapped in a snowstorm... and had been nearly frozen
to death, not only by the cold, but by the appearance of a Yuki-Onna.
However, this Yuki-Onna was enthralled by the mortal, and made him
swear he would never speak to her... and then left him to live.
When spring came, she found she was in love with him, and so she
returned to him, in human form, and they eventually became husband and
wife. Years later, after they had borne two daughters, the
husband revealed to his wife what he had seen that day... this broke
the geas Yuki-Onna had set into place, and she was once again
transformed into the Snow Woman. She left... but her family
lived on, and the seed of her power lived within her daughters.
Back in the time of Yukiko, her innazuke,
Tenko, and her were just meeting for the first time. He was not
a bad man... and, in fact, Yukiko found herself fascinated by him, and
he with her. In a very bold movement... he reached out, and held
her hand in his own... with disastrous consequences. The stress
of the events around her, the fact that it was the winter season, her
beginning to reach the age of maturity... and even just a bit of
fate... all were in action this day, and as her hand touched his, his
body was covered in a thin layer of frost. He was freezing cold,
and felt a part of himself being drained. For Yukiko, she was
suddenly red hot, and feeling as if in the throes of sexual passion...
better than any orgasm she might ever feel. She pulled back, and
Tenko just stood there, frozen, and halfway to death. He was
taken to the fire by Yokiko's father, and thawed... he would live, but
it was close.
Her father banished her that same day, calling her a
demon, and not his daughter. She ran, with only her kimono, a
knife she'd swiped from the kitchen, and her sandals to her name.
As she left, her mother caught her... and, in tears, and in defiance
of her husband, gave Yukiko her old Inu Hariko, so that she
would have protection in the world as she wandered.
Present:
Yukiko has been wandering now for a year and a half. She
has learned, the hard way, a bit about how to survive in the world.
She's also learned a bit about her powers... or, as she refers to
them, her curse. She knows some of what she can do, and even a
little of how to control them, but she also knows the flaw... the more
she uses her powers, the more she needs to feed from the Ki of others.
And the more she feeds, the more she WANTS to feed... that pleasure is
sometimes too much for her to fight. And, by that measure, she
has learned a small bit of seduction... mostly through seeming
innocent, and when people try to help her, she feeds... mostly, only
when she has to, but sometimes she does slip and allow the ecstasy to
overwhelm her with need. But still, she wanders, heading towards
any place that will have her.
Desires:
Yukiko has but two desires in this world. One,
to remove the "curse" from her. Two, to live a normal life.
That is all she wants, and will do ANYTHING to accomplish them.
Fates:
It has been a century since her family was infused
with the power of the Yuki-Onna. The fact that it has just now
revealed itself through Yukiko probably means she has some big plan
for her. However, it may be that she was just simply born under
an ill omen, and fated with bad luck.
