Origins:Mizuno Ucchichirowas born in the home of
his lord, the Lord Metsukuno, as the only child of the Weapons Master
of that very same house and his wife, a lady of some station within
the house. From the beginning, he was trained to be a warrior,
and excelled at the skills. He was taught to read and write, to
perform poetry, the fine art of singing, and even the art of Sumie-e.
As he got older, he became the (squire?) for one of the other House
Samurai, learning the fine arts of Battle Tactics, and how to fight in
real combat conditions. By the time he was 22, he had gained
great skills in all the things a Samurai would need to know, and was
on the brink of being awarded the title... when war broke out. Ucchichiro
was unable to attend his Samurai Lord due to a severe wound he was
currently being cared for, and so, when the remainder of the house
returned, decimated, Ucchichiro felt sick, believing he should have
been there. It took months for him to recover, and, when he
finally did, he was a hardened warrior, training to the point of
exhaustion as a penance. As the Lord Metsukuno rebuilt the
house, one of the new Samurai awarded the title of House Samurai was Ucchichiro...
and, at that same moment, the Lord presented him with the items they
had managed to reclaim from the battlefield... his father's swords,
and armor.
Since this time, he has trained ever-extensively.
Not a social creature by nature, he was forced to learn to become
social in order to become a part of the Political structure.
While he is not good at such things, he has the skills, and now is
attempting to balance the Yang in his life, his warrior skills, with
the Yin... his social and mental areas of study.
Present:
Uuichiro is taking his place among the new Samurai
of the House Metsukuno. While not skilled enough to be a leader,
he still is given some credit by his peers for his skill, and for
being a member of the House longer than many. Not that he ever
tries to use this credit... he would gladly follow those of more skill
as leaders, until he becomes more skilled himself. Even among
Samurai, he is known to be an Honorable man, and one to follow the
Bushido to the spirit, if not the letter. He is also,
unfortunately, possessed of a firey temper, and, once past the limits
of his self-control, tends to explode into an almost violent rage.
And, most unfortunately, he was never trained in the arts of wooing
women... and finds that he has no idea how to handle the "fairer" sex,
and, also, only knows of them what he's seen in the House....
therefore is quite shy around them in anything beyond a business
capacity, and, even then, it is not easy for him.
One other note... he was raised in the Shinto faith,
and still holds the beliefs of the Shinto to this day.
Desires:
Ucchichiro has few desires... Mostly, he wishes to
become the greatest warrior mankind has ever known. He has no
desire to use that skill for power or conquest... only to defend those
of the world from any who WOULD desire to persecute the innocent for
their own personal gain. Also, he desires to avenge his father's
death... to find the warrior who killed him in battle, and face him.
If his father's death was honorable, he will salute the warrior, and
let him be. If it was a dishonorable death, he will avenge his
father, and kill the dishonorable warrior. But, in any case, he
has to know.
Fates:
What the fates hold for Mizuno Ucchichiro is
unknown. But, whatever it is, surely it will be something
miraculous. Which does not mean only good things... just because
it isn't good doesn't mean it's not a miracle.
